Political debates cannot be won with religious arguements

Agree

I get upset too when Christians try to use "God Says" as their defense of an argument. God does not need us to throw the word around to penetrate the soul of a human. A sunset, a hummingbird, reflection upon any of the wonders of nature, a good deed, a quiet witness of a powerful life can pierce the heart of an unbeliever. In politics, sound reasoning, logical arguments and life experiences can be enough to change policy. A turn off is the religious, Christian or Budist, Hindu, Muslim or Jewish statements of related faith. We must try to remember that politics is not faith based, but fact based, well at least it should be. Religion is faith based. We cannot prove the existence of God as a scientific fact as gravity is a fact 100% indisputable.
The problem with so many politicians is that they have accepted as fact some of the scientific works of study which mostly proves that a probability exists a certain percentage of the time. An 86% probability is not fact. There still lies that other 14% uncertainty. As Christians interested in preserving our heritage in this country, our arguments have to be more fact based and leave the rest to the pulpit and personal witnessing. Keeping things simple, removing the spin, exposing the hypocrisy and doublespeak may win the argument.

Good article.
