Franken Wins

Random'note very informative & important

The only way to have confidence in and acceptance
of our Democratic voting system is to INVEST THE MONEY AND HAVE A DO OVER, when there is so much machine doubt! Counting chads etc., ha!
This latest election was also flawed. If ques-tionable Donations and Acorn had not been involved, the race probably would have been much closer? Obama lucked out when Democrats promoted an unrealistic process of counting Delegate credits, with a Caucas, inconvenient for Clintons working supporters, double voting in the primaries and sharing Hillarys Fla., votes etc., all favored and enabled Obama to win. Your name sounds familiar, but as I don't know whether you posted before or not, let me welcome you tot he blog and thank you for the comment.

I think you are correct, if we reach the point where we need to go to court, the best solution probably is a second election. Granted, people will turn out who did not turn out for the first, but that cannot be helped. If anything, it will make the results a better representation of the public.

I just think that using the courts is a bad idea. And, whatever side may win, it ends up harming us all, as it turns the political process into a judicial one, which leaves people feeling less connected to their representatives, and less invested in their government.

YOu are assuming these people do not

have evil intentions. You are assuming these people care about America's liberty and freedom. Where is the evidence for your assumptions?

Welcome tot he blog and thanks for the comment. And yes, you are correct that I assume, in general, that people do not wish to do harm simply for the sake of doing harm. My assumption is that, even if they are interested solely in themselves, people still would want to protect themselves, at the very least, maybe a few favorites. So, when an action only works in the short term and threatens even you in the long term, then I would argue you should avoid it.

But, you are right, if they simply wish to do evil, without a thought even of their own well being, then my argument will not work on them.
