I really think she did. The nuance in the actual quote is just enough to show that she didn't call him a faggot, but that it could easily be made to appear that way.

I know she does a lot just to get an effect, but I think this may have been done on purpose to illustrate some point that she has hiding up her sleeve. I'll wait and see how it pans out.

Then again, it could be just like the limbaugh quote. Her ability to irk liberals has given her a bit of overconfidence. I think she does act purposefully grating at times. And that quote taken out of context and twisted to the point of no recovery may be simply inevitable...
