saw this on the news this morning

Fox and Friends put this up and its ridiculous!

I remember I was I a freshman in highschool and I was at the mall with a girlfriend. She was trying on clothes in a department store and I told her I was going to run one store over to get a CD while she tried on clothes. I met back up with her and two people kept following us. They finally cornered us at another store and demanded to see in her bag. She had stolen a shirt.

I was so embarassed! We were escorted to a back room and her mother was called. I was too scared to call my mom, but did and had her pick me up and told her what happened. I will never forget my friend's mother when she got there. She was crying and telling her that she had sinned and broke a commandment and why would she do that when all she had to do was ask for it? The look of disappointment in her mother's eyes was heart wrenching for me to watch, even at 14 years old.

She wasn't the least bit sorry she did it.

Four years later she joined the Marines. I hope she was straightened out. I never hung out with her again (lord knows my mother wouldn't have let me if I asked!)

Being "bad" has become glorified. When Lindsay Lohan can drive drunk, possess cocaine, and crash a car and go to jail for less than two days, what kind of message does that send our youth? It sends the message that there is no consequence to their behavior and no long term legal ramifications. A slap on the wrist and a "Don't do it again now, ya hear?"

Answer to you message
