OUR SUPER SHINY NEW OBAMA FUTURE!

New Obama Future

Hi, King David! First, two little quibbles: You used Super Shiny in reference to Obama, shine is a racist term and super could soon become one. Also, you used the words, ascend to the throne, in the body of your essay, which could be construed by the unwashed masses as Obama ascending to the toilet. The rest of your blog is right on target! What will the boy do once he really has to work, for the first time ever? Thanks for a good read!

SO FUNNY!

Never thought about the "shiny" aspect, but the "throne" one is hysterical. Maybe, from some perspectives, the US IS a toilet now.

More seriously, as for racial slurs, I have no racism in my heart. I've never denied a man or woman a job, housing, favor, or scholarhip because of race. I've never caused physical aggression because of race. No one I've even KNOWN has, to my knowledge. So as for "sensitive language", anyone gets to call me any names they please because of my skin, but I have to keep a running vocabulary list of terms I can't use. THAT'S a form of racism to my mind.

When I was younger, the term "black" was a term of pride, often enviously expressed in the term "black power". I was never permited to use my heritage in a phrase including the word "power", it would have been "inappropriate"; and I envied the ability to declare such ethnic ambition and resolution with such direct expression and pride.

But at some point "black" was put on the "don't use, if you can help it" list. It starts to feel like a game; a group trying to see what they can get away with.

I like halloween, and will not surrender the word "spook". I need words to describe...well, "shiny", and will not surrender the word "shiny", etc. I'm glad Obama is our nations HIGHEST OFFICIAL, because I will no longer put up with the jumping through hoops to be sensitive to this particular oppressed underclass. Black Power WON. The underclass routine is OVER. We're all equals now, as far as I'm concerned. Hell, he's my/our SUPERIOR.

And my taboo vocabulary list is down to one single word in this vein, which isn't worth fighting for and has only one use, of a cruel nature.
