When your own party votes with the majority of 413-3 in the House to impeach you, and then the Senate votes in favor of that impeachment with such party luminaries as Ted Kennedy, John Kerry and, if memory serves, Robert Byrd voting TO impeach you, it is hard to say that you were not duly convicted by Representatives of the People and tossed from office.

Congresscritter Hastings may have escaped the law, but he did *not* escape the Justice of the People.
