Irony: A Vote for Romney was a Vote for McCain

to be fair...

The same thing would have happened if Huckabee had dropped out. His votes would have gone to Romney. The difference is, had that happened, Romney would actually have had a chance to win the nomination.

ditto

A vote for Romney was a vote against Huck.
At the end of the day Romney will still have more delegates than Huck.
Huckabee cannot win and was only in it to tag team with McCain to keep Romney out.
I say Romney 'for the good of the party' turns his delegates to McCain right now...with assurances from McCain about a conservative platform.
That would cut Huck's grass right now and make certain he has NO standing at the GOP convention.

there is one big difference, Romney campaigned on the fact that Huckabee should get out by saying a vote for Huckabee was a vote for McCain. Truth is, Huckabee has hurt McCain more than Romney when they were all in it, just look at the exit polls.

thru and thru, I am not sure how much political experience you have, but it is clear Romney will not have more delegates at the end of the day. Everyone is trying to say that Romney is trying to get his ducks in a row in 2012...the thing is we don't know what will happen in 2008. Romney will not be th VP choice, and neither will Huckabee. Both will have a role in the convention. Romney proved he couldn't win the south, and in the end of the day, that is why he got out. He finished 3rd behind McCain and Huckabee in each of the southern states that are the bread and butter for the GOP.
