Well, if anyone takes a minute to read this - here's the REAL fun part about all of this: Bend Parks & Rec sent out their fancy, and costly brochure (and yes - it was costly), to thousands and thousands of people in Central Oregon, telling them about the new officer hired on board and how the parks are doing great.

If the parks are doing great, why did we have to replace the park ranger? And, what about that new building on SW Columbia St? That had to cost about $4 or $5 million - AT LEAST. If they were short on a budget for the Park Ranger, then, um, where did they get money for a new building and offices?

Maybe, what the people cried out about is right. The Parks and Rec are irresponsibly spending the peoples' monies, and it's high time that the City and County step up to the plate and demand answers. Of course, on the news today is the "vandalism" occuring in the parks, which involves stripping ALL the bark off of a couple of trees; something, that I'm not too sure is an easy task and should have been noticed. Well - we DO have the authorities instead of the Park Ranger, and as the Parks & Rec administrator said, people will respect him more....

No - wait - they're not. I guess that means that, that was a lie, too. This is really, really sad....
