WHO JOHN GALT IS?

I'm glad to see a post written by someone who actually read the book. I've read it myself at least 20 times since my mother gave it to me when I was 14, and reading a lot of the commentary about "Atlas Shrugged" has left me in a combined state of annoyed and amused.

I would caution you, though, to avoid categorizing those who rail against the book as "Liberals"..my mother, a lifetime Rand fan who still keeps the letter Rand wrote to her in college, is a diehard Liberal and Democrat.

If one must categorize, I'd recommend the "those who cut-and-paste out of context to suit their own needs without ever having read the damn' thing" classification.

The ignorami who have posted ridiculous conclusions about "Atlas" pretty much run the gamut from Liberals to Libertarians, in my research experience.

You may include the conservatives at NRO in that. They have treated her as viciously as any leftist.

Side note: I do not call leftists liberals anymore. There is absolutely nothing liberal about their philosophy except the way they spend other people's money.

A is A. B is B. I am not hung up on terms. I can Call A, "B" if it maks folks happy, as long as we don't pretend A is B.

Bottom line I am talking about people who simply refuse to understand the context; to accept A is A.
