Second, while Sarah Palin resigned early, the American people have the attention span of a gnat, the American people will be more concerned with what policies she advocates in 2012 and not what occured in Alaska in 2009. Third, Sarah Palin is positioning herself as both the anti-Obama candidate and the leader of a new conservative GOP. Thus by 2012 when the American people think of the face of the political opposition to Obama, this will be the face of Sarah Palin. Third, Sarah Palin is the second most well known American political figure and the most well known Republican on the planet. Fourth, the next election will be a referendum on Obama's past actions, not on Sarah Palin's. Fifth, back in 1976 and in 1980 we heard all too often how Ronald Reagan was totally "unelectable" and whom does history remember now.
