Mr. Peters, the relationship that the Bhutto family had with the U.S. I am not fully informed with the family's past (learning as I obtain additional information), but it seems that there is a long list of "dealings" between the family and the U.S.
To be sure, there was significant corruption employed by the family (to the tune of more that $1 billion), and if I'm not mistaken, the U.S. may have also been (at least indirectly) involved in the hanging of her Father (Nixon/Kissinger era).
But the family's past has somehow escaped mainline reporting. Yet Benazir is being portrayed as a martyr. And the Bush Administration had provide support for her in the name of freedom and democracy.
Why do you think that is?
