working together is a great idea
but our National Security is now in the hands of the Democrats, and we don't have much to say about it, unfortunately. We'll have to sit at home and watch Obama get "tested". Hope none of us get killed. Pres. Bush kept us safe, will Obama?

No way. There is not much common ground to find with those so bent on dismantling all things conservative. I am still half-hoping to see if anything in this latest edition of the Clinton administeration we can work with for America--I am not holding my breath!! Thank you for coming by Davecat!!God bless.

socialist regimes from other countries automatically pose a threat to us?

Great! short and to the point.
It was within hours that our pals Hugo and Mahmoud were contacting Obammi. People were celebrating in the streets overseas in the same scary manner that they did when we were attacked on 9/11.
Foreshadowing?

your responce is typical of one who is a socialist himself. In answer-simple-they deny freedom to their own country-slam us in their press and openly support solialism in this country.

Sweden denies no freedom to their citizens. The right to slam or praise us in their press is their freedom. Even countries like Venezuela where there is somewhat less freedom than Sweden have the right to speak for or against us in their press.
The only way you can say that socialism automatically threatens us is by definition. But at some point you have to show why that definition is legitimate.
If you could be more specific, how does socialism in other countries threaten us?

There are repressive socialist gov'ts and there are open ones. The ones you listed are repressive. Just remember that not all scoialist gov'ts are the same.

we the people
caday5--is democracy-socialism is us the government. our vote is our voice. In a Socialistic worldview that you support it is the government calling the shots. If the people have any rights or liberties at all- in your view- it is the government that chooses to give them.

Actually, what Martin Luther King called for was a democratic socialism. And if you remember Nicaragua from the last century, it was the vote of the people that changed the gov't from being socialist to nonsocialist--but what should be mentioned is that the voters were influenced by terrorist attacks from the US supported contras and other American actions. Many American actions back then were condemned by the World Court.
BTW, the Nicaraguans reelected the Sandistas and were immediately threatened by our gov't.

What MLK called for was returning to the founding fathers belief that all men are created equal!! You are not gonna convince me to change my mind about Socialism. Oppressive or otherwise you can rattle off all of the so-called "successes" untill Hell freeses over it does not change the fact that Socialism is not a "we the people"" democracy -nor will it ever be.The dispotic rule is not what God created us to be-he created us to be indipendant thinking indavidualsto choose right or wrong---to choose life or death-"therefore choose life so that ye ma live" Let'ts just leave it at that shall we?? I close with the words of Bob"s nephew---you have your positon and I have mine. BTW Martin luther King trusted in God Almighty--not an almighty government.

Your note seems to contradict the information from the following link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnBRogNadEc
But the reaction is mixed. His niece, Dr Alveda King objected to Obama's stands on abortion and gay marriage.
