Well, my opinion: if one puts himself out there in politics, on the platform of "seeing purple" (his mantra back in 2004, about not seeing blue or red states), and now of being a "uniter", his background becomes important, for he must show he has been trying to unite us. However, every time he opens his mouth, it's to the tune of "I'm better than you." His fiasco in San Fransisco, his associates in church and state, and even his wife all have shown me that "unity" is the LAST thing he wants.

I am back to share the my beach party story.

So, I go to a beach party today in my lovely state of CA. As people continue to show up, the conversation of these four women close to me turns to politics. I start to listen to this conversation and just about fall over. Actually I am laying in my beach chair, so technically I already fell over.

One is voting for Obama because he was a community leader. Okay! One supported Hillary because she was (is) a woman. And the other two are for Edwards. Do they know that is over? At this point I am ready to bury myself in the sand or pray for a tidle wave to sweep them away.

As the Obama supporter keeps yacking. She is saying how he is going to end the war as soon as he gets in office. He is not going to allow drilling because it will hurt the deer (huh?) So, as I listen to this and continue to pray for the tidle wave (to no avail)she just keeps going. Finally she asks Samantha her thoughts. Apparently that would be me. So I correct her deer statement and share some other items with her. She then tells me that I do not want to vote for him because he is black. Ugh!

Oh, I forgot the best part. She also let me know that he is going to give all Americans health care and she knows for sure that her implants will be covered under this plan.

Some times I have to say I am embarrassed to live in this state.

A preacher in our area made an observation last night. He pointed out that in the 40's our country fought to free the world from socialism, fascism and evil men like Hitler and now we are about to elect a socialist/marxist to the office of President.
Very sad testament to the poor education and the lack of real interest in where candidates stand in their beliefs.

Well, apparently I am just racist number one. Today I walked into my co-workers office and she now has a framed picture of Obama, from Time Magazine on her desk. I asked her if that was a picture of her new child. She did not like that at all. She then gave me a lecture on how people who don't vote for Obama are racist and women who did not vote for Hillary should be ashamed.

According to her thought process I should have hung my head in shame. Instead I said, to join with your fantasy land here, if there was a candidate that let me claim my pets as dependents, I am there! Pets are People Too/08. She did not get that at all.

I wonder if under Obama's health plan, it will cover free hair plugs? Just a thought because I do work with some balding men.
