Duncan Hunter: Its all about China

Wil says about the MSM:

"They marginalize him." Bingo. The only real defense they have against "truth". They do it all the time. Doesn't make truth any less powerful and real, however.
So Wil, I ask you, are we going to give them credence? Are we going to let a handfull of self-centered Iowan's who have been slopping at the govenment-farm-subsidies trough for decades discourage us? HECK NO! Of course they're going to vote for Romney. He was the Gov of a very socialist leaning state. Like Iowa. Its to be expected. Iowa and their measly 7 electoral votes. They're irrelevant in this particular Presidential campaing.

It ain't over till its over. Who said that? Yogi Berra right?

First item of business for me today was to sit down and write out a check for the Hunter Campaign and a letter of encouragement. Asking him not to quit. And get it in tomorrow's mail.
If 10,000 Hunter supporters can give him $20. "per month", that'll keep his campaign afloat. Thats not unrealistic. He's not going to get any $$ form the U.S. Chamber/WSJ wing of the party. So he's high and dry. Unless we help.
Brilliant piece Wil. Try to get it out on the Blogges Sphere. Its info that the American voter needs to read and contemplate. And print and send it to the Hunter Campaign headquarters. They'd love it. (along w/your $20. check) Ha! DD

well, Hey Wil!

You're back. Thought you retired. I'll re-add you to my blogroll. I agree 100% with you on Duncan Hunter. Sounds like we listen to the same radio shows:)

I saw what you wrote about why you blog. haha. me too. No one around to discuss with really. My wife usually agrees with me but is not into it as much (in regards to politics).

I retired

until after the baby was born...now I try to limit myself to 1-2 posts a week, and also to not get too worked up about it all. My wife is the same way, conservative, but not really interested until right about election time.

Duncan Fan

I too am a Duncan Hunter fan but tend to agree with Doc. Steech. Newt is like a lightning rod and tends to draw the interest of the media but is also well hated by a lot of dems. Newt also has a lot of good ideas about many subjects that I agree with. The biggest being the slow bungling nature of a bureaucracy. Of course no one likes to hear Newt talk more than Newt...

Hunter's take on China is so clear it may be prophetic. Time and time again China has shown us they will not follow our lead in any area of conflict such as Iran or Korea. They have their own agenda and have been forthcoming about stating it. We just don't listen or believe them. Just as Hitler built up armaments consistent with his plans so does China. We needed to listen to Churchill then and Mr. Hunter now.

Doc

Interesting comments and perspective on China. I am going to do some research...It may take a while before I know enough to rebut or agree with your assessment, but I want to see what I can learn about China and their ambitions.

I can tell you one negative for sure. When I was in the Navy we had an intel plane that was in international waters off the coast of Hunan that crashed. The Chinese held for a while but eventually released the crew, but they tore the plane apart and learned all they could about our intel.

In general, you are right, the more trade, the less conflict. I'll get back to you on this though.

Wil

I see China spreading INFLUENCE all over the globe in an attempt to shore up and secure resources and political ties. Maybe not imperialist expansionists, but imperialist marketing. If they can corner the world markets, they don't need military power. Smart guys. And effective too. Too bad the Democrats don't believe in Capitalism, we're fighting China with one hand tied behind our backs. I've appreciated Hunter's ideas, he's not going to get traction IMO, and I believe he'll be folding up his tent before long.

Conservatives

can't seem to unite around any conservative candidate. They are all waiting for Thompson, it seems. He's got the mysterious "gravitas."

Kicking away the ladder

Google 'Ha-Joon Chang' and 'kicking away the ladder on free trade' and read hi stuff. Its a great historical perspective on free trade and where China got its current policies on trade. Its not too dry, I promise. It wil validate a lot of what you talk about here.

p.s. I felt exactly the same you did about ol' Ducan. I actually sent him money!

Thanks for the info

I will check him out. My hope is that Duncan Hunters son wins his seat in San Diego, and since he is not running for Pres, that he'll go after Feinstein or Boxers Senate seat. He has enough name recognition after his work on the border fence, he might have chance to unseat one of them. Especially if Californias conservatives make a big effort on his part.
