I believe the underlined names are names that provide links to blogs; those without underlining do not have blogs to link to.

Like your dictionary definition of terrorism. Brevity is the soul of wit (I'd guess simplicity is in the ballpark, as well: Occam's Razor and whatnot.) The problem with a definition as broad as the dictionary definition, is that it is so broad as to be meaningless: in terms of criminal definitions; and defining who is a terrorist. Violence, and intimidation are used by Law Enforcement daily, but Law Enforcement violence is authorized and discriminatory and therefore, is force, rather than mere violence.

The dictionary definition fails to distinguish between legitimate violence and illegitimate violence. It also fails to distinguish between criminal and political terrorism. Without such a distinction, one is unable to properly confront political terrorism (mere criminal terrorism is best confronted through the criminal justice system.)

Incidentally, I was unable to read through your entire post at this time. Due to the length, I'll likely have to wait until this weekend to dedicate the time that is deserved by the post (from what I did read).

Apology

I apologize that I do not have the time to read all the way through this, though I promise I will. However, after just scanning through, I have a problem with a quotation you used. The movie Rounders has absolutely nothing to do with politics, at least not on the national level. When Mike McDermott (played by Matt Damon) uttered those words to his professor, he was explaining how to play poker. Maybe that is the point you were trying to make, I don't know, and I agree with the basic idea of your blog (again, I apologize for not having read it to know if I agree with all of it), but regardless of whether I am in agreement or not, it appears you have taken the quote out of context. If I'm wrong, then I will gladly apologize, but it just seemed a bit odd to use a phrase about poker to describe treasonous acts.

Your article

is quite revealing, though I haven't had a chance to read it all yet. It reads like a novel or history book... very well written. Sounds like Horowitz' book is a must read.

We do have a challenge before us, and the forces who hate America and all we stand for seem to be taking their places on the world stage.

We must be vigilant! You are doing your part to get people to pay attention. We must all work for a good outcome for our country. But ultimately only God knows where it all ends.

I'll look forward to reading the rest of your article, and will commnent later.

Thanks for visiting my blog!:)

Good article

And I get the "Rounders" quote too; it goes back to the info about Richard Nixon and his poker playing. And you're right...this is High Stakes Poker we're playing here!

Now my advice to my number one Flag-Bearer (lol!); when you're covering this much info, break it up into smaller posts. You could post them as links in a chain and have us coming back for more. Next time you have a really long essy, try that, it may work for both you and your readers!

But to the post itself, I have to admit that I have been puzzled about why Gen. Powell would weigh in on this issue, at this time. You give some serious food for thought about his actions. Thanks for the good work!

To MacZed...

Thank you for the comments. I will respond to you as best I know how. You need to be encouraged, but I am troubled by your view of Christ. Pray for me, also. I commend you to the Lord and to the power of His grace. [Hebrews 4:16] Also, I commend you to a good church with faithful pastors that preach the Word.

You say, “You can't fight religion with religion, you must fight Evil with good.” The Bible says Christ has given us the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We fight error with truth. The truth defines what is good. The truth is the means of grace whereby the heart of man is transformed. Men of faith have always stood on the absolute trustworthiness of the Word of God given to us in the Bible. Christ prayed to His Father, “Thy Word is Truth.” [John 17]

We place our entire hope in Jesus Christ, because He is the faithful witness. He has fully revealed God the Father. Christ said if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father. [John 14:9] He has overcome this world of sin and death. He has established His Kingdom and is gathering His people, just as he said He would. He has promised that all His people will be raised up on the last day. Not one of them shall be lost. He has given us many precious promises and sealed them with His own blood. By faith we rest in Him.

I was already planning to address the historical view of the church on the Kingdom of God as the next subject on the blog after Escape from Reason. Some of your comments indicate that this might be of interest to you. We cannot confuse Christ’s Kingdom with the kingdoms of this world. Neither can we confuse our duties as a member of Christ’s Kingdom with our duties as citizens of this country. What are those things that are new in the New Covenant? What are those things from the Old Covenant that have passed away? What are those things from the Old Covenant that are still in force? These things are of interest to all believers in all ages, and are written for our encouragement.
