Why do you oppose Obama? - Question from my daughter

As a White Man (truly white.. If I dont get some sun, I look like casper...)I whole heartedly agree with this post. I too have a black son and a black daughter. I too know many black people whome I love and respect. I too thought that J.C. Watts would have made an EXCELLENT candidate for president, and if he decides to run, will whole heartedly support him.

I too oppose Obama because of what he stands for... which goes against all that I have grown to know what America is supposed to stand for. How can I tell my 10 and 16 year old sons to work hard, but when they get older, the fruits of their labor are going to be taken (in a much larger portion of my fruits today) and given to someone who has CHOOSEN not to work and contribute to this great country.

There is a place for social programs, to take care of widows, orphans, and those UNABLE to work. But we have gone WAAAAYYY overboard to provide "welfare" for all kinds of people who CAN work, but choose not to. I sickens me when people are provided money (and other benefits) without putting an effort forward to earn those benefits. Even an unemployed 50 year old can help out by working one day a week picking up trash in the community. Women that run their own "baby mills", just in order to GET A CHECK also can contribute by providing some amount of time/labor to help those who are willing and desire to improve themselves.

We had better get our political acts together and reverse what has been started. With any luck, it may only take the rest of our lives to fix what damage we have already done by electing Obama.
