The notion that socialism is an outgrowth of Christianity is false. Some who embrace it may think so but should analyze it more carefully. Socialism is antithetical to Christianity.

Jesus did not force or advocate forcing anyone to do good. Socialists do.

Charity is a voluntary principle in Christianity that is rooted in love. This in contrast to the re-distribution of wealth in socialism that occurs by compulsion and is rooted in greed. Taking the fruit of another man's labor (socialism) without is in no way consistent with Justice.

Socialism is definitely an evil, and an unnecessary one.
