Allowing drilling which will drop the price of gasoline 10 cents a gallon twenty years from now is far, far more damaging than killing over 3000 people maliciously. I couldn't agree with you more. And I don't think the comparison is at all tasteless.

10 cents a gallon twenty years from now? Do you really believe that? Even the most rabid anti-drilling dems have only talked about 10 years, and now you think that it would take 20 years for our increased production to come on stream? Sorry, but with all due respect, your statement is ludicrous.

I thought that I'd seen it all when I saw the GLBT parade with the "Dykes on Bikes" out there a few years ago. But that was tame compared to the happenings on Folsom Street. I doubt that Sodom or Gomorrah could have been any more outrageous. I feel ashamed for the few good people who must be still living there. I've made my last voluntary visit to San Francisco. It's a damn shame, it's a beautiful city but the crazies have indeed taken over the asylum - and those are Nancy's constituents - was she there? I didn't see any pictures of her but she must have made an appearance, after all, these are her people, right? Absolutely disgusting.

piker62 has bought the line from Pelosi. Even a small dose of common sense says increase supply and price goes down. Also when supply comes closer to home, transport costs are less, and import/export taxes go away....

From a historical perspective, Osama Bin Laden is like the Germanic tribes trying to destroy the nation fromt he outside, and Pelosi is like Nero, fiddling while the nation goes bankrupt because in her self-absorbed world, gas prices going up is a good thing that encourages alternate fuels, regardless of what it does to families who can't afford it.

Yeah, can you believe piker? Even the 10-year number often quoted by the left is wayyyy too pessimistic. Most experts say 5 or 6 at most and some could be available in 2 to 3 years. In one of my blogs on the drilling question, I proposed instead of a "Windfall Profits Tax," that we offer a "Windfall Production Bonus." Give the private sector some additional incentive, get out of the way, and we'll have oil up the gazoo in a few years. BTW, I read your "Demise of Conservatism" piece and I'm impressed - nicely done.

yeah, a tax cut incentive on profits if they get production up and running in a certain amount of time.....I like that sort of idea.
