Sen. Graham Displays GOP Culpability for Tepid Public War Support in Radio Interview

The few times I stumble across accounts of Iraq and Afghanistan from people who are actually there, it always amazes me that their view is so different than what we hear over here. And they know what we hear because without fail, all of these accounts bemoan that the good news is not making its way over, leaving a very distorted picture of what's actually going on over there.

Too many people have not read von Clauswitz or Sun-tzu and believe that a "good" plan will proceed according to plan. They fail to understand that with so many other variables involved, most importantly, an enemy, adaptability is the key to military strategy. Being able to adapt to the circumstances on the ground is that which leads to victory, not some amorphous "perfect" plan to win the war and the peace.

It would be comical if people who held such immature views were not treated so seriously.
