A Response to Newsweek's Exegesis on Homosexuality: You Pick, You Choose, You Lose

If God is so abhorred by gay people then why would he create them in the first place? All of the studies are clear, compelling and unambiguous; Sexual orientation is determined by biology.

The studies I am aware of seeking to prove the concept of a gay gene have been pursued first by Bailey on homesexual twins, then by Hamer and Levay to find a chromosomal link and then by Rice and Ebers to isolate said mystery link. All three studies failed. We were and are left with only conjecture concerning a gay gene. David, are you sure you want to see one discovered? Because if we are not responsible for our behaviors, we cannot change our behaviors, and we therefore have no hope of change if we desire it. Think of the dismal possibilities for human freedom if we were able to discover, for example, an alcoholism gene. You would be condemned to a life of suffering that disease without the option of change...and we might one day just get to the point of doing a DNA scan of your pregnant Mom, discover your alcoholism gene, and eliminate you from existence in toto. What a nightmare. One person might enjoy his gay lifestyle, but another person may abhor it and want to leave it...your position robs the second of the freedom to do so, does it not?

"All" of the studies are "unambiguous", huh? Are these studies by the same scientists who are monolithic on man-made "global warming", er, cooling, er, um, "climate change" ?

God didn't create homosexuality anymore than He created any other sin. If you seek His will, your sins will fall by the wayside. Seek your own will and land in the same place where all "self made men" land. You don't belong here. You belong w/ Him. He has provided a path and it is a gift unto your salvation. Take it and be saved. Forsake it and be seperated from paradise forever. The choice, thanks be to God, is yours.

Seek the kingdom and you will find it, David. It's not too late.

First, David- NONE of the studies are clear or unambiguous. They are rife with preconceived results.

2nd- Joe: How terrribly unfair of you to use Rom. 1:26 against the Gay apologists.
It is both clear, and unambiguous in it's rebuke of the sin of homosexuality, leaving no room for an alternative interpretation.

Oh well.
There do seem to be Absolutes after all.
