Palin wins!

Incredible...

You thought she did well? I thought that whole thing sounded so incredibly rehearsed. I would say she did well, however, when you debate you need to debate the issues and the questions the moderator ask. She conveniently glanced at answers and then moved onto topics she had practiced... come on, it was obvious... so do I think she won... No. The MSM didnt think so either... I find it funny that so many people did think she won when she didnt even actually debate.

Had Biden really confronted her on any of her actual answers I think we would have seen a much more entertaining debate.

Palin won

Joe Biden did what he always does...lied. The fact checkers have now had time to do their job. He lied on no fewer than 14 instances. Not exaggerate but out and out LIE! I don't listen to anything the MSM say. They are just another branch of the Obama campaign. If they were doing their job they would be sending 30 investigators to Chicago, too!

Youre funny...

I think you're grasping again. No fewer than 14 times? Where'd you hear that? FoxNews? You stay out of the MSM and dont listen... so how do you know how many times Joe Biden lied?

Dont get me wrong, I think she did much better than all those other (funny) interviews she did, but if you couldnt tell that she spewing a script given to her then you're missing some fundamental ingredients needed to make proper decisions. Sure she had some cute little comments and winked a few times... which could be good or bad in a debate... but ultimately she didnt even address the questions. She immediately moved onto other topics!

If you and I are having a debate about blogging and you start talking about cooking, you cant expect to win the debate because you never actually answered the question... And as far as a "Debate" is concerned, it was really more of a "Here is where I stand".

I would have loved to see Biden call out Palin and actually have a debate, but in order to do that, Palin would have had to be knowledgeable about the content and not be just a puppet.

Biden lied

Yes, Biden lied.

We never ousted troops from Syria with France.

Obama indeed did say he would meet WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS with Ahmedinijad. He's on video saying it.

Biden said he "drill we must" but he opposed off-shore drilling and said we are 'raping' the outer continental shelf.

I could go on but he lied. 14 of 'em. whoppers.

Well, whoppers they are not...

Meeting without preconditions: Yes, he did say that, but what you dont understand is what preconditions are. Preconditions does not mean without security or without the proper securities in place. The idea that people have that Obama just wants to meet somewhere with these guys in a diner is ludicrous but when you pound the "preconditions" term into the ground as McCain has (and use it that way), then thats what you think he's talking about!

Drill we must: Perhaps its taken out of context, as many of these pull quotes are (on both sides)... I dont recall him talking about drilling here and then turning around and saying no... but understand where the Obama ticket is taking off shore drilling... The US has an oil reserve of about 3%. Meaning that if we drill off OUR shores we could tap into that 3%... big problem is that as a country the US USES 25% of the worlds oil... so we're left with importing 22% of our oil from foreign countries.

If he was speaking about the currently unused oil drilling platforms we have, then yes, drill away. They are there being unused and can ease the gas burden on the people... otherwise Id say youre just twisting quotes.

whoppers, whoppers

Did Obama explain to you what he meant by "preconditions"? He did not and he didn't expound. Even HIllary said it was naive.

You're wrong about oil drilling. Supposedly, we use 25% of the worlds RESOURCES (though unsaid by liberals is that we give back more than 25% of those resources in military protection, medical aid, charity, food, etc.) not oil. Obama will not drill. He has always been against drilling. He said he would "look at drilling", whatever that means.

I'm not twisting quotes. The bottom line is that Obama is a leftist. He is on the far left of leftists. That is a fact. There is no reason to believe anything he says since he's already reneged on campaign promises and he has slowly moved right because he is campaigning and we live in a more conservative country and we have never elected a leftist president.

By the way, here are no "unused" oil leases Democrats keep wailing about. They are unused because they have not produced oil.

Obama is unreliable. He is way too liberal. His record stands for itself.

Heh, Well...

No, Obama didnt explain preconditions to me, he didn't have to... the good folks at CNN, BBC, & CNBC told me what preconditions mean. Obama knows what it means and McCain is playing on the publics ignorance to make them think it means something completely different. You can look it up, its out there.

Yes, we do use 25% of the worlds OIL resources. To think that with all the companies going overseas and the economy in the hole that we use only 25% of the world's resources is nuts... We use much more than that in RESOURCES... In oil however, since we haven't put money into alternative energy, we use 25% of the world resource. We hold 3%, we use 25%... its simple math.

He would look at drilling as a short term fix (I believe he, or Biden mentioned this) until more alternative energies were in place. The fact is that Obama doesnt want to drill b./c drilling in the states will ultimately get us nowhere. Goes back to that simple math...

And you cant produce oil if the wells arent being used... And yes, Im sure there are no unused leases, however wells and drill are a different beast all together.

Obama's record stands for itself... heh, so does McCain's and thats why he's in the position he's in.

Obama explained preconditions

at the second debate as "being prepared" for the talk. That is NOT what preconditions are. Preconditions are setting terms to which will be agreed upon as a result of the talks. As Senator McCain described it "Senator Obama is parsing words" and he does it quite frequently.

I thought Palin hit a homerun on the debate for her being on the national stage for such a short time and she definitely knows how to connect with the heartland of America.

dittomom I have pics on my blog from the Palin Rally I went to.

American Sweetheart

Lucky you! You got to go to a rally!

Obama always "parses" his words, or worse, just changes them completely. The media pretends not to notice.

@American Sweetheart

"It doesn't mean that you invite them over for tea one day. What it means is that we don't do what we've been doing, which is to say until you agree to do exactly what we say, we won't have direct contacts with you."

I really don't see any parsing going on here. I think he nailed it on the head.

It means that he wouldn't require (Iran or anyone else) to meet every one of our demands before he began talks with them.

Henry Kissinger has said the same thing:

"I do not believe that we can make conditions for the opening of negotiations. We ought, however, to be very clear about the content of negotiations and work it out with other countries and with our own government."

Seriously, how hard is that to comprehend?

Re: Kissinger

it has already been established BY HENRY KISSINGER that Obama misrepresented his (Kissinger's) position. Kissinger was talking about LOWER LEVEL OFFICIALS. NOT the President of the United States. Henry Kissinger has already said that he agrees with John McCain and that OBama was wrong.

OH PLEASE!

Did you just make that up? Because I also remember Obama, while talking about pre-conditions... mentioning that it wasnt going to be HIM sitting down with leaders of the world, but lower level official talks, like Kissinger, in order to open up communication.

He said it...

He is on video saying that HE would sit down with these tyrants. Sorry. He modifies his words after his mistakes have been pointed out. But he said it.
