No Triple Crown This Year

Big Brown may have come in dead last but at least he's not dead.
Horse racing makes me very sad as does any racing involving animals other than Humans. Animals can't tell you, "Yo Jim My Ankle and my Hooves are barking Dude; can we lighten up on the riding crop a bit"

I admire their beauty, speed and 1000 lb elegance. I do love watching Horses before and after the race, (provided they survive. Poor Eight Belles, I cried for like a week such a beautiful filly wasted) thier chatting and prancing with the companion horses. It is as if they are saying, "Hey Joe did you see me, I won". Horses are beautiful majestic creatures and they are subjected to such overly ambitious expectations. Why is it that humans have to race everything to death including themselves. Geez, I have enough trouble watching NASCAR.

Reports state Big Brown had a loose shoe that was responsible for his loss of the Belmont and thus the Triple Crown. After watching Kelly Ripa et al, in the Regis and Kelly Live High Heel Race benefit for the March of Dimes I can now understand Poor Big Brown on so many levels.
