Evangelicals For Obama? Kind of Like Canaries For Cats

Likewise

I, too, am a devoted, ardent Christian.

I am not, however, a born-again nor an evangelical. I have watched as the BAs/evangelicals have tried to redefine our Savior as a narrow, limiting God. I reject that. For over 30 years now, I have watched as the most extreme members of our faith have pushed their relgious agenda into partisan politics.

This Christian will be voting for Obama because she believes his over-arching message will help to sever the ties of the BAs/Evengelicals into our nation's politics.

God bless whoever wins in November -- he will need all our support and prayers.

thank you for putting it so simply

i have been saying a lot of the same things! there is a book entitled "the God Factor" that came out abt 3 or 4 years ago where the author interviewed several poepl to find out what they believed in. senator Obama has a chapter devoted to him. one thing he makes clear is that he believes that Jesus is not the only way to get to heaven. that means he is not a christian. period. if you take the Christ out of christian, you have something anti-christian.
and that's my big problem. i would have more respect for someone who ran for office as a satanist, out in the open, than someone who claims Christ but then puts him on the same shelf with buddha, mohammed, (and lest we not be inclusive), satan himself too.

Jennifer

Well put. Thanks for your comments
