To Reduce Gangs and Gang Violence....
Reduce "entitlements" to ZERO.
One of the reasons, in my opinion, that crime in our "inner" cities is so bad is that the "Welfare State" rewards bad behavior.
In Mississippi we have many casinos. When do these casinos make their most money? At the first of the month with the distribution of "welfare" checks.
If there were no "welfare", no SSI, no food stamps, what would happen? More people would be required to work (or they would starve). There would be less demand for the importation of foreign workers.

I don't personally see Delaware as a "Blue State". I know the people here and truth be told many are Independent Conservatives who had been apathetic in years past. Those who voted looked for the name they knew best as opposed to the policies represented. In the 80's Delaware would have been considered a red state by and large with people like Bill Roth, Mike Castle (much more Conservative then) and Pierre DuPont. I don't think the state shifted. I think many grew silent while the few far left socialists (mostly concentrated in a small part of Newark where a certain college campus sits) continued to scream. I call Delaware "The Purple State" because I truly believe the people here want honesty, fairness, leadership and respect for our founding. We've just got to wake up those apathetic voters and make them understand that they have a job as citizens to know the issues and to know their leaders and to use their voices.

I knew those guys when back East, especially Bill Roth. But, see your two US Senators et al. It has been a bit since the entire State was really a Pub outcome. I hope for more but with changing demographics in the Tri-State area, I do not see a huge Pub wave, though I would love to see NJ actually get rid of Corzine.

Every day we see proof in our cities that Liberals can't be trusted with power.
Yet, in our cities, the plantation mentality is so strong, that the very liberals that have destroyed the cities are elected to save them.
It's easy to be a liberal, just scoop your brain out with a melon baller, and do what you're told to do.

But it's up to US to stand up for these same people who are being taken advantage of by the liberal scum. It's up to us to stop all the politicians from keeping our cities and the people in them locked in the chains of slavery.

I agree with you completely. of the top 10 cities I believe 9 of them have been under Democrat control entirely since the 60's? I believe ALL of them have been under Democrat control for the last decade.
Does that mean all Democrats are horrible and corrupt? Not in the least. Not any more than the idea that all Republicans are corporate sell outs to the highest bidder. It's just that the crazies have all the money, yell the loudest and know how to BS the public.
When are our city folks going to stand up for themselves? When will they understand that Mayor James Baker here in Wilmington, DE doesn't give a DAMN about them? When will they understand that city council and county council and the General Assembly as it stands have done NOTHING to fix Wilmington?
