Obama sees energy independence, as independence from HIM. He won't have any of that....

Maybe you can help me understand something ... why are these Senators "asking" anything? Why aren't their States simply starting to drill? There is NOTHING unconstitutional about the States drilling. Period. Why do these Senators, why does anyone feel the need to ask permission? Maybe I am just tired and cranky, but this is getting nutso.
Great post, Stefano, and I appreciate the information, despite my little tantrum above.

With the enviro whack jobs running the show now, no Pub will be afforded even the courtesy of getting approval of offshore drilling, oil exploration in Alas. or NJ, or NC, or Fla. Natural gas exploration is dead. No nuclear plants will be built but Italy and Britain have contracted for dozens more in their country. So, the game is over for domestic independence unless the public throws the Dems and BHO out in 2012, which I am betting against because we have such a dumbed down voting bloc now present in the USA. Drop by.

Hey, Stefano! Mrs. AL makes an excellent point! I agree completely! Almost every state is rattling their little tin cups for spare "change" but no one has the gumption to fight the EPA and start using their own shovels. It is hard to believe this is even happening in only 45 days!

Good job keeping this issue in the forefront.
Obama and team socialism are keeping the ignorant masses distracted from this and other important issues by attacking Rush. Smoke and mirrors, bread and circus. I have to give the Dems credit, they know their base.
The bottom line...don’t expect any expansion in drilling or refining while Obama is in office.

We can't drill, we might actually make some money. Sorry! Now if they needed a gazillion to start drilling, then maybe we would think about it and throw some money at it.
Good post. Salazar - I can't believe he got confirmed. Another award winner we have. Super! Is ths over yet?

Informative post and great comments from your readers.
The one thing that has always come to mind on this issue is : God has give the USA the resources for energy independence...
Shame on those who do not or will not see this and tap in what we as a nation were given by God.
Thanks for posting the letter and info.
Keep up the good work.

Did you notice that energy independent means wind and solar and that is it?

The truth is that many people have an incredibly short term outlook (attention span) and the President can take advantage of that by lurching from crisis to crisis. Who would have thought that nine months would pass since the repeal of the executive order against OCS drillig with nothing substantive being done. Sue, you are dead on with respect to the wind/solay thing. I think that our chief executive truly believes that wind and solar are our way to energy independence. If so, there is going to be a radical change in the way we live. Think in terms of the seventeenth or the eighteenth century.

I am stocking up on candles now and get the gas lamps ready!
Amazing with all of the "green job" talk. It only includes wind and solar. Ugh!
We go from crisis to crisis and he ties them all together. We have the economic crisis because health care is too expensive. Tomorrow he is going to yack about education and we need educaton to create scientists to do the research.
Get your butt in the oval office and get a detailed plan for the financial over haul and then move with the other 10,000 things you are throwing at the American people.
