Education and mandates

I'm in Australia and I feel the same way you do. I'm 21 and I attended schools which were much more sensitive to making sure everyone feels 'smart' rather than actually making them smart and being politically correct rather than giving the teacher independence. We need to create accountability and standards which make sense in reality rather than shrinking away from the world and the competitive nature of its challenges. Not everyone is a winner. There's no use hiding from that, and students, teachers and parents shouldn't be hiding either.
