Thanks, the website I linked with the numbers will stagger anyone. It is hard for me to fathom such numbers.
I laugh at the juvenile way that communists think that by changing their name constantly they will not be associated with Karl Marx and his philosophy. I guess they use "progressive" now instead of liberal. Same difference, same mantra.

Dean, the name change
may prove they've rewritten history enough to fool themselves.
From some of what I've read (I admit it's not conclusive evidence), the term 'Progressive' was applied to the movement -before- they co-opted and corrupted the once-honorable term 'Liberal'. If they're going back to it, it means either they think they've managed to successfully deceive others as to what it meant, or else they've deceived themselves into forgetting they'd already used that one.

Welcome! Good to see young people exploring and learning on their own and I applaud you for seeking information outside established academia.
I am not at all surprised you did not learn this in previous classes. The left leaning Academic Elite in our country have successfully revised the history taught in our classrooms today.
The USSR had many leaders besides Stalin. He was their second leader. I believe the order would be; Lenin, Stalin, Malenkov, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Andropov, Chernenko and finally Gorbachev. The total deaths attributed in Mr. Rummel's writing span the entire history of the USSR and include all of these leaders.
You are correct, the USSR made Hitler's Nazi's seem like pikers.

I have not researched the numbers but I get a feeling that the bailout will surpass ALL war spending in our history combined.
Sad, ain't it? We are in a war of sorts, and ideological one rather than one fought with arms...so far... I am not sure how long our people can remain so fractured before the division becomes too great for just words.

Dean, if you'll look
into Darwin's theory of Evolution, you'll find that Marx, Hitler, Lenin and all the rest of the monsters subscribed to this theory which devalues life to -0- and is the true basis for all the "isms" that think nothing of snuffing out life. To a young idealist with a head full of mush, communism sounds like a great idea.
Everyone earns the same (basically zilch), and you don't have to worry about making your own decisions. To a young idiot that sounds like school without tests.
Of course, it can only work in Theory, because people aren't the interchangeable cogs that communism tries to make them into, so, for "The greater good" those malcontents who don't fit must be eliminated.
I bet Marx never thought those malcontents would number in the millions.
See you in the re-education camps.

And now with the faux Messiah, those chickens have come home to roost. Excellent analysis. The only reason I did not list fascism is because by definition it means an "Authoritarian" or "Totalitarian Nationalist" ideology. Therefore it is possible to have a conservative fascist or a liberal fascist government.
That Hitler was a student of Marx is incontrovertible. Witness the party name; "National Socialist German Workers Party". The Nazi regime was considered a fascist regime by definition. It is possible to be socialist and fascist at the same time, as ironic by today's liberal definition as that seems. I would have to judge the USSR at its worst to be a fascist government also.

You make many valid points which I agree with.
Our higher and lower education system has been taken over by card carrying socialists with a mission to smooth the way to a new world order. The sad part is we have not been vigilant enough to realize this was happening, especially in public funded universities.
The subtle editing of our history has created several generations of clueless voters.
To paraphrase the old adage: "Those who fail to read history are doomed to repeat it."

When you have the same people who advocate all these "isms" in charge of your educational system from kindergarten through college as well as 98% of the national news media all in an effort to get and keep people brainwashed the liklihood of anything changing, regarding peoples attitudes and their fundemental beliefs is extremely low. People believe what they are taught in the classroom and a vast number "still" believe the news media. It is a systemic problem that is self perptetuating. My greatest fear is wondering what it will ultimately take to wake people UP! Until people stop buying the crap that is being peddled by the, Socialist, Progressive, Communist ideologues, nothing is going to change. This country is currently in an advanced state of insanity.

Capitalism is not a 'ism' in reality or at least in the terms used in this blog. Governments rise and fall and political parties fade away but there is always a business opportunity for those who have the skills. The left view this as a threat to their existence and that is the basis for Marx.
The left have nothing left but our money and business talent and they will sacrifice both for 'equality.'
Capitalism means success and liberalism means failure.

I agree, we as humans collectively have done some major culling over the years.
The kumbaya singers would have us believe that if only we try we can all be friends...! From studying human history I hate to crap in their punchbowl and ruin their emotional party. But. It is not within human nature to do as the kumbaya singers wish.
Like I was once told by a wise old man, "Wish in one hand and $hit in the other, then tell me which one fills up first"

Dean. A realization about Bush...
As i read your "marx Lied..." I realized that I am beginning to experience the "gramps and granny stndrome." That's when the outsider listens to granny or gramps denounce "that scoundrel of a son, daughter, grankid" for hours. Then when the outsider wearily nods his head in agreement, they hit him with an ashtray and throw his body out into the snow.
I realize that I am tending to react in the same manner to denunciations of "W." I can do it, but lisping Socialist orators better keep their distance..."W" is family.

I recently posted a similar essay. There is no denying that atheist armed with Marxist ideals take the cake for sheer mass slaughter in the 20th century. But I would hesitate using the comparison alone to debate this subject. The argument inadvertently assumes Bush did lie, but the number of deaths he caused was less. Or simply put, pointing to bad behavior to justify more bad behavior. I understand that was not your meaning, but the unintended premise is there and any dishonest person could spin it that way.
I like to focus instead on logic and facts...they simply do not support the mantra:

Now we have another Marxist/Hitler blend coming into office right here in America! My son saw the mass graves of Iraqis when he was deployed on his 2nd tour to Iraq. He said it was sickening.
I had a professor who was going on about how we've lost more troops than the Iraqis had lost to genocide. Of course, the young people in the class were listening with rapt attention and I raised my hand and corrected him and said at that point there had been at least 100,000 people found in the mass graves compared to the 3,100 soldiers of combined American forces and although our troop loss was an atrocity, we had not uncovered all of what Saddam the genocidal dictator had done yet.
He said "Who are you getting your information from?" When I told him, my son a Marine Sgt, his face dropped. I said I tend to believe a firsthand account over the mass media!
