Do you think so little of the American people (even Republicans!) that they can be fooled into voting for anything because the liberal media tells them to?

American People
I think the media and the liberals, (one in the same)pounding away every day, with the aid of horrific images and a constant body count tend to blurr common sense with some. The constant rant and unspeakable remarks about our president, whether you agree or disagree with his policy has an effect also. If you add to that reciepe, the intelectual dishonesty of the democrats when speaking of moral decay of the republican party. Its paramount to brainwashing. I know politics is far from 100% honesty, but the democrats have a history of lying and getting the public to swallow those lies. The former president was never held to account for his under the desk follie with Monica, which makes the "pot calling the kettle black" come to mind.

Then assuming you watch Fox News, which has an acknowleged conservative bias, aren't you obligated to stop or at least get half your news from MSNBC, or NPR? If you don't, you are getting incomplete coverage, right?
And how effective is this bias, considering that Republicans held all three branches of government for six straight years?
And since YOU are aware of the effect but "the American People" are not, doesn't this make you an elitist?
I'm sorry to ride you on this, but I'm bugged by the way everyone in this country seems to think that the other half is stupid or crazy. Statistically, it just wouldn't make any sense. My take on these elections is most people don't like the direction public policy has been going and decided that they needed to change it. Even some Republicans.

Congress
I watch many news channels to help form my views on the issues. And while I'm on the subject of opinions, I used to have a different one. In the past both parties brought good ideas to the table. In todays climate, all you hear from democrats is viscous personal attacks on the president, and others in the administration. All the while staying mum pertaining to new ideas, plans, or answers to foreign or domestic issues important to the American public.
I agree that FOX leans to the right, but most of what you hear from the alphabet channels is negative and continued denouncing of the Bush administration. Gone are the days of civility and respect for the office of the leader of the free world. I think all this vicious harping drives the party's further apart, and leaves no room for bi-partisan cooperation. I think this last vote was one of frustration, and the american people want progress or they will throw this new bunch out in 08.
In answer to your concern about americas intelligence ratio, I think the american people as a whole, are better informed and more engaged than any other time in history. However I think a certain sector puts too much faith in the liberal elite media, and dosen't take the time to get another prospective. But "time" is for another comment.

Politics
I don't ge it: Unemployment is at a 25 year low, oil prices ar plummeting, taxes are at 20 year low, tax revenues are at all time highs, the deficit has been cut in half over the last year, home values are up 200% inflation is hovering at 20 year lows, and not a single terrorist attack since 9/11. An outstanding accomplishment. So just what "new direction" do the democrats have in mind? I say higher taxes, higher interest rates, higher inflation, and greater risk for terror attacks in the USA.
I think we need a lot of prayers said for this United States of America. I think one democrat has it right. If democrats don't make appreciable progress, this won't be the end of the blood letting in our 2 houses of government.
