A New Power Grab from EPA!

Hate to say it, but

what's new?

The Cali equivalent already has usurped that power, and I believe there was a recent SCVOTUS ruling allowing expanded power for the EPA.

That's why we need to get back on track in this country, and stop the GOP from its ever-leftward drift, or we are permanently screwed as a nation.

A new post up at the Island, pics and all.

We've got an EPA facility here in Cincy

This is something I'm glad you told us about. If they're soliciting input, they will get some for sure!

Same old

As Brian said. not new.
Fed govt takes over more of life every day they exist.
Each office has to show it is doing its job and is worthy of the money Congress gives it.
There needs to be an outcry about this and every move made to take over more power.

I am FED UP with bureaucracy

I think it is every bureaucrat's view that their only reason for existing is to create new constraints on citizens and business. (Read: control) This would be bad enough, but to enact new activities based on "Global Warming" issues is total BS. Doesn't anybody listen - there are now more "scientists" disagreeing on the warming issue than are for it. Shouldn't that be when we pause and reevaluate activities based on suspect "science." It is disturbing.

Brian

EPA is a loose cannon. There is a current body of work which suggests that artificially tinkering with the CO2 levels could be potentially devastating to our crop production, woodlands, not to mention the economy.

The Clean Air Act is just too open-ended. EPA is a rouge agency making it up as they go along without thought to consequences. The worst part is that they are unelected.

I'll be over shortly.

Thanks Dave

The public has to make some noise on this. EPA tried recently to classify smalls arms ammo in the same category as C-4 in an effort to kill the 2nd amendment, backdoor. Fortunately the word got out and public outcry was such that they backed off.

Evil never sleeps!

You can use the link on the title of the story to send an protesting email to EPA which will be an official comment.

EPA is particularly insidious with regard to unregulated action. No congressional hearings, and no truly public notifications on TV or radio. They wait for times just like this when the public is distracted to try and slip these rule changes into their mandate.

The Clean Air Act which empowers them gives them virtually unlimited regulatory power without being held to any public standard. EPA is just about as close to an imperial agency as you can find.

Go to the email title link and send them an email. All comments have to be in writing. They also post it on their website if you can find it.

THIS is the kind of freight train coming at us from D.C. that has to be de-railed. Bad enough the libs think all this is neccessary, but those ostensibly on our side think it as well. Have ANY of these so-called scientists actually STUDIED the impact of CO2 reduction on such things as crops, trees, etc.? Aren't THEY supposed to do an environmental impact study BEFORE they cram this crap down our throats? Highly f-in unlikely. Try doing ANYTHING without an EIS done, see where it gets you. Am OMW to leave comment at the link. Thanks for putting this out here.

Libs better watch it...

all these "controlling legal authorities" they are making is going to cut into their Rezko-type deals....

Your welcome, clyde

Thank God for watch dog groups such as AFP. This kind of stealth maneuver is typical of regulatory agencies and they have been getting away with it simply because the public doesn't find out until someone tells them they need a permit for their lawnmower. Then it is an uphill fight to back it off.

Good point about the IES's. A simpler way would be to ask a greenhouse operator why they pump CO2 into their greenhouses. Clue: It ain't to raise the temperature. IT MAKES THE PLANTS GROW FASTER AND STRONGER!!!

Politics and science are lousy bedfellows.

SC

Good observation. Do you suppose there is a exception for liberal politicians, like all the other laws that don't apply to congress?

I am reminded of a WW2 song:

"When EPA says it has the Master Plan,

Say Go To H*ll

Right in their ugly face."

As an engineer, I have had to "live" with the EPA guidelines for most of my engineering career. Unless I am sadly mistaken, most engineers and architects are going "to scream bloody murder" at this possible new set of guidelines.

Even worse is what the Private Sector (read manufacturing) will do.

However, I will start the ball rolling in Mississippi and contact the Mississippi State Board of Engineers and the Mississippi State Department of Environmental Quality and register my complaint.

Ghost

My business is classified as manufacturing so a great deal of these little gems are aimed at my business sector. Also our area is very heavy in tourism. Hotels and restaurants, already feeling the gas price crunch, will be hit very hard.

The housing sector could receive their death blow from something like this. Of course congress gets their carbon taxes without having to get their hands dirty.

Here's a lyric for you. Randy Newman's theme for the TV show "Monk".

"I could be wrong...but I don't think so!!!"

Go For It EPA!

The farther these idiots go the worse will be the backlash. There is no scientific evidence that CO2 has any effect on the climate at all. None. Nada. Zippo! The Emperor has no clothes.

Sarge...

well, it WOULD be funny to see them in such a circumstance--as created by all their law-making--that they all end up living in Obama's mansion & eating nothing but Pelosi's tuna.

Skep

Bingo! Scalia put it nicely in his dissent when he said that under the ruling even a frisbee would be considered an air pollutant.

No science I'm aware of proves that CO2 is anything but beneficial.

SC

Failing that, I hear Big Al has some spare rooms in TN. I wonder if Edwards has finished his new place?

Thank God For Liberals

I'm glad that the libs kept the Right-Wing crazies from building a fence at the border, washing dishes in Sinaloa is starting to look like a career option with the EPA crazies stalking the land in El Norte.
Another thing about liberals is they'll probably legalize drugs so we can sink into a stupor and lay in our three-foot high grass and forget those nasty old EPA thugs who ruined us.

No problemo

We can just vote these clowns out of office the next time EPA comes up for reelection, right? Help me out. I'm having trouble locating EPA in the constitution. I must have an old copy.
