Getting the Job Done

Actually, I agree with you for the most part. I'm not sure I agree as to the reason, which I suspects is mostly votes. Politicians fear that closing the border and dealing with illegals will cost them the Hispanic vote. I say too bad. I expect leaders to lead by principle, not for expediency. In this case, I think the votes will be solidly behind whoever deals with the illegal infiltration problem definitively.
Having said that, many who come just want to make a living, which they can't do where they come from. I suspect that many of the Mexican flag wavers weren't what they seemed; they were the usual socialist, anti-American types who have been demonstrating against the United States since I was in high school.
If you read my other stuff, you'll find that I am pretty libertarian in my convictions. I will vote for those who come close to representing them. I'm not happy with the President, in some big ways, and I am very disappointed in Congress; but you won't catch me voting for or supporting Democrats, who right now are an even greater "evil."
