The Lesson Obama Forgot

the liberal-leftist-radical statists with Barack Obama as titular head and turtle atop the fencepost -- is to squash liberty with a hobnail boot and substitute oligarchy government power over everything, absolutely everything.

The means, the strategy, is running roughshod over the Constitution and the rule of law on multiple fronts and with lightning speed. This strategy is premised on the belief that enough people can be fooled for enough time to completely and irreversably alter the landscape.

The loss of two governorships is motivation for the oligarchy to move faster, not slower or with compromise. Crises are a terrible thing to waste. That -- for what it's worth -- is my take.

I can see that for those wanting to make radical changes the losses would cause them to rush. Best of the Web made that very point about Pelosi yesterday. The problem for them is that the rank and file want to hold on to their seats and they can see the writing on the wall. The administration might be better served to practice a bit more moderation for now, not frighten the rank and file, retrench and try again in 2011. But they have shown little foresight recently.
