The 2006 Midterms And Their Impact On The 2008 Elections

I'm a Virginian and observed Jim Gilmore in office. He is not presidential material. His campaign issue that got him elected was ending the personal property tax on cars. In the first place this is a tax levied by the counties so it was not his revenue to give back. In the second he made a hash of it. We still have to write tax checks each year, minus the amount reimbursed to the county by the state. He left us with a fiscal mess. He lasted about twelve minutes as GOP chair, that should tell people something about his managerial skills.
