Semi Scared of Palin

Semi DISAPPOINTED in Palin

I think it less that Sarah Palin is trying to redefine the responsibilities of the Vice President than that she is simply ill prepared to discuss the role of VP in an open discussion. She seemed to fixate on the role of the VP as President of the Senate as if it were of major importance. She seemed ill informed of the fact that it's a largely ceremonial duty, only important in the event of a tie vote and that her primary job is to simply be there to step in to the Presidency if necessary. God forbid if that happens.
While I am in alignment with every viewpoint she has expressed, admire her principles and would love to go on a hunt with her, (her husband included, of course!) or just knock a few cold ones down with her, I just can’t escape the feeling that she is remarkably unqualified for what I want her to be elected to. Has she been too isolated up in the north country? She totally lacks the depth and breadth of knowledge that I would expect from a candidate for national office. Her answers in interviews, according to reports, were frequently incoherent or just not there. I did see the debate and only on a few topics did she show and substantial in-depth knowledge. Her answers were platitudes, generalities and cheerleading. Her statement that she might not answer the questions except in her own way was cover for her to give talking points instead of details. I was thoroughly disappointed in her performance and highly disillusioned with her and John McCain.
Saying that, we cannot as a nation, afford to let that shyster from Chicago get elected. The shining city on a hill will be a welfare state and every road down the hill will be the slippery slope to socialism. This blue blooded elitist may be american but he is not a true red blooded American. God may forgive us if he gets elected but our children will suffer the consequences and likely not even know it.

Disappointed in what?

Shyster, welfare state, slippery slope to socialism and God may forgive us? Sounds like talking points from the comedian Rush!

Palin I believe was simply a poor choice by McCain which demonstrates his character. Wonder what other decision he will make? I believe he can do no worse than the current President of the United States of America. For that matter the same could be said for Sen. Obama who is an American and Christian. The same can be said for Mr Barr.

As for God, I'm personally embarrassed (for them) that a political party some how believes that God is theirs. Putting one’s faith in the politics of this country will be our down fall.

I believe each of us need to ask - if a political party stands for wealth, power, and military might - Is this what Jesus came to this world to teach us?

Peace Dave

Semi disappointed in America

Maybe "God may forgive us" was over the top, but our children won't forgive us for putting him in office to start this country on the road to European socialism and nanny state government.
