The word "Activist" itself is just sounds so leftist if you ask me. I agree. The greater good potential is often overlooked (if at all) with some groups.

The point of these posts, of course, is to promote thought. I can in no way be that which I stand against - I do not want to be the picture in the t.v. tube that people use in place of God and their own brains!! I truly believe the principals upon which the Right stands, at least originally, using individuals such as Ben Franklin as a 'loose' example - with the invention of fire departments, libraries and schools, invokes the principal of the 'majority' good. While 'welfare,' has its base in supporting those in need, as for the 'common' good, it did not truly represent the 'people' - imho
