Nice Job....great words,
With what we are up against on a daily basis, keeping us safe 7+ years from another attack, is feat of it's own. Bitter hatered and contempt from those on the left, have made it tough for anything. I too salute him, there have been issures, but overall he has come thru it all.

Jason

I agree President Bush has kept us

safe on his watch in spite of the barrage of opposition...I didn't vote for him either the first time, but I did the second ...He did what no other President has done..blow the UNITED NATIONS OFF!

I have never followed politics except where The Middle East has been involved...Carter(who I was absolutely against before he was elected) gave those Islamic Bloodnuts the hope they needed further their disease on Humanity.

Jason

Thank you, I was not entirely sure I expressed my thoughts well enough but you seem to have caught my drift.

Even though I have not agreed or supported all that Pres. Bush has done he has done an excellent job keeping us safe and for that he deserves a huge THANK YOU and job well done.

Cindy

I am happy to hear that there are others out there that feel the way I do.

I know exactly how you feel about Carter, he was a failure of epic proportions. Almost my entire time in the service was under him and we all loathed him.

Me Too

Carter was elected when I was in Basic Training.

Security first

... all the rest is secondary.
On September 11, 2001, Islamic fundamentalists declare war on the U.S.
Since then, there has not been a successful attack on American soil.
That's good enough for me and my grandchildren.
The state of the economy matters little when you've been blown up.

Cindy

You must have went active duty just about 9 months ahead of me. I went active in June of 1976.

Reagan was a HUGE breath of fresh air when he was elected.

Saltwater

You said a whole mouth full in very few words. My thoughts exactly.

Thanks for swinging by and commenting.

I have a great respect for George W. Bush in his high regards of The American Armed Forces. It took a lot of courage to take a stand against terrorists, I doubt many in his place would have had the courage to fight to keep Americans safe.
Eight years is a long time in Washington D.C.,
I don't envy all he has seen, heard, or been through. We can't even imagine...

Jennifer

I agree, whether or not I worded it properly that was what I was trying to convey. The intestinal fortitude it took for him to stand his ground the entire 7 years was a tremendous effort on his part and he did so successfully.

2655 and counting ....

Thanks for this, Dean D! I have been wondering how many days have gone by since that fateful date of 9/11, and am thankful for each one. Now, especially since this shoe incident that so many rads cannot get enough of, I appreciate W and what he has done to keep us safe. The unhinged hate toward him by those on the left will never end. I believe his own faith, his love of family and country and his inner peace will sustain him. Thanks again for recognizing this accomplishment. Saltwater has summed it up, there is no economy if you are blown to smithereens ....

Not quite, Saltwater.

Minor quibble: The Islamic Jihadists (Jihadi? Jihadim?) declared war on us (and the US) before that date. It's simply that the previous attacks were blown off by the Democrats and the media (but I'm being redundant) as much as they could.

Dawndawn

Thank you, I appreciate your comments.

Pres. Bush deserves a lot more credit and respect than he receives. I only hoped to extend to him some of which he has been denied.

Ender

I agree, Pres. Bush inherited that festering keg of puss called Al Qaida from that inept clown who was in office before him. The BJ clown allowed our country be attacked several times at home and abroad. To place the blame for 9/11 solely on Pres. Bush is a fallacy perpetuated by the left for political gain.

Correction noted, Ender

A more exact statement would be,"On September 11, 2001, everyday Americans finally became aware that Islamic fundamentalists had declared war on the U.S."

Saltwater

"On September 11, 2001, everyday Americans finally became aware that Islamic fundamentalists had declared war on the U.S."

That is SO true. Thank you sir.

I voted for "W" 4 times...

...2 for Tx governor and 2 for POTUS. That gives me the right to be critical of him. And I have. And will continue to be critical of him and the other Transnational Progressives who've hijacked the GOP.
"But" let me also say, as flawed as George W. Bush is, he's light years a better leader than any democrat. I'd never call George W. Bush seditious or even traitorous. I "can" and do say that about a good many democrats. DD

Thanks for stopping by.

Good points all!

doh

LOL, after my previous post I should have cut and pasted the oath of office to this post. I got the wording wrong but you get my drift none the less.

Pardon my blunder.

Dean D

Thanks for the kind words on my post. You perfectly articulate on your Blog everything I was trying to say. Great Job.

EJR

Thank you for stopping and for the kind words!

eeeewwww

I served during all of Hillary's 2 terms as President, and will serve for a year of The Chosen One's Messiahship. I can't imagine having to actually be in the Navy when the Navy's greatest embarrassment was President.

Craw

I can tell you, it was not an enjoyable experience. At least we had our pride of service even if we couldn't be proud of our commander. We were there, ready, willing and able. A eunuch passifist doth not a warrior leader make.

Couldn't 'uv said it better myself.

My thoughts exactly. I did vote for "W" both times and am glad I did because I get goose bumps thinking how Gore or Kerry would have handled things. Like you, I have not agreed with a lot of things that President Bush has done...........but we're still safe so far, thanks to him;all the while enduring daily crucifixion from the ingrates in our country including the skanks in both houses of Congress.

Good work Dean. (:-

Bobbie

Thanks, this was something I felt deeply needed to be said. For all the bleating of the liberal sheep we have been blessed with a true Commander in Chief. Bless him.

Dean D

I enjoyed your post. I voted for "W" twice. I have not always agreed with everything that he has done, but he has kept us safe. It is sad that many people don't feel that is something so positive! That they just continue to ridicule him and chant their "hate."

Thank you for this! And thanks President Bush!

Sue

Thank you very much for the kind words.

I kinda felt someone needed to say this, I am sure it's been said by others but not nearly often enough.

Dean D

It's nice to actually hear something positive. I am so tired of all the "hate" and bad mouthing against Bush.

I know people that put their head down when they say they voted for Bush. That makes me ill. Sorry, but if Kerry had been President, well, I don't even want to think about that!

Nice work!

Hey President Bush also gave me great tax breaks. Clinton didn't! That could be Hillary or Bill, whomever was really running the show!

Sue

I know what you mean about the hate thing. I got sick of fighting off the Feces Flinging Marxist Monkeys (FFMM for short) over on Gunny's blog. I hate to give them the last word but all they can spew is hate.

No matter how you look at it, we have not been attacked since 9/11 and for anyone that is a job well done.

Dean

There are a couple of blogs that I stay away from because they can get so nasty. I am not a fan of Obama and I did not vote for him. But I am not going to run around and say that I "hate" him.

I find it interesting for all of the nastiness that is said about President Bush and our divided country, that Obama is going to come in and wave the wand and make it all better.

I don't know about where you live, but I have never in my lifetime heard the nastiness of things said about a future President. And I don't feel that Obama is the uniter. I was called a racist for not voting for him. Huh? What happened to freedom of choice?

You know when I saw the White House Christmas tree being brought to the house and Mrs. Bush standing out there, it was a sad moment for me because this was their last Christmas there. Sad!Well, I for one am thankful for being kept safe. And we shall see what comes in the coming months. Remember what Biden said?

Sue

I know how you feel. I live in Washington state so while I may be a bit of a redneck I am not racist. I did not vote for Obama strictly because of his politics, not his skin color. If Thomas Sowell had run I probably would have voted for him, at least he is a conservative.

I am deeply afraid we have reached a point in this country where we may just be looking at a split. I feel that our country is strongly divided between conservative and liberals, you can almost mark it on the map. I was thinking about posting a write up on my blog saying we are due for "a divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences". We cannot seem to find any common ground between the ideologies. Time will tell I suppose.
