It's time free people took a stand.

I, too, am John Galt

I find that I have to be a mouthpiece at every turn in support of true FREEDOM, values and honoring what's been known in the past as the American Way. How many generations need to deluged with the lies about America's fall from grace before we begin to believe it an join into the song? I AM JOHN GALT and I will stand to the death, if necessary, to uphold and defend what's right. Thanks for the inspiration.

stand

My Dad died in WWII, and I never knew him. It seems I've spent most of my life arguing with His Majesty the Baby Boomer over the responsibilities inherent in privilege. Up until recently I've felt myself to be shouting into a vacuum; your writing is more evidence that in fact there may be hope.

Thank God for you, and God Bless America.

Oh Beautiful for patriots' dreams that echo through the years,
Thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears.
America, America, God shed His grace on thee,
And Crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea. AMEN

I AM SPARTICUS

I, too, want to have everything without paying for them. I want all the benefits, but none of the responsibility. I want to be able to say that we're the free market and yet rely on the government tax base to cover our massive losses. And then I want to blame it all on Jimmy Carter and minorities whom the very same government forced a cowering financial industry to loan too.

Say the dream isn't dead

An Army of John Galts

Rocker, Rector, Rob, and Franken: thank you all for your comments. To answer Franken, no, the dream is not dead - but it is necessary to wake up free men to the realization that if we do not stand up, speak up, and make ourselves known, the collective will take over. Even now, I wonder if America has the political and moral backbone to turn back from the brink.

If we do not, America will complete the process of becoming the next "People's Socialist Republic," and will do so with our tax dollars, and at the cost of our individual freedoms, which the Founding Fathers knew to be freedoms that were not given to us by the State, but given to us as inalienable rights by our Creator. Already, we are subjects of a government that refuses to recognize those rights, and has become in many ways corrupt and illegitimate.

I have not stopped believing in the original idea with was America at its foundations, and I hope that those ideals can be restored.

What we need is an army of John Galts.

"Come and join me, or come and get me."

> Come and join me, or come and get me.

Can't I just ignore you, instead?

Ignore Me?

Cervantes: sure, I suppose you could ignore me. But consider the situation: you chose to read the post, you chose to comment, and you asked a question. As a free individual, you had the right to ignore me at any point along the way.

But you didn't. So, was your question rhetorical, or are you genuinely doubting your ability to ignore me?

Further, why would you? Are you trying to say you're content with the fact that those in this nation who are producers are being increasingly and systematically looted by a combination of politicians and bureaucrats on one side, and chronic non-producers on the other side? Why, in the name of all that is just, would you want to ignore this and stick your head into the sand?

If your comment was an attempt to sound clever and witty, I score it as a FAIL.

Hello, John Galt -

You have the attention of this retired English teacher, newbie blogger, and fan of Atlas Shrugged.
After reading the "I Am John Galt" post, I read your introduction post, and am glad I did.
Hmmm- ignore you? Interesting, that. It would be like ignoring the majority of America...I suppose some would like to try, but they better hang onto the edge of two coasts, because the rest of the country is standing up for FREEDOM!
Glad I stopped by - come by my blog sometime. Thanks for the inspiration.
Cindy

Joining up!

Thank you, Mr. Arnold, for the visit to my blog. I would be honored to be included in your blog roll; I have reciprocated by adding yours to mine.
I share your respect for Ayn Rand - I first read her in high school and was instantly and viscerally drawn to both her characters and her themes. I introduced her writings to my students, and can only hope that they might have made a small dent in the tidal wave of oppositional culture they face from every front.
All the best in your writing endeavors - I will continue to visit.

A Soldier In The Army of John Galts

It is with pride and privilege that I stand by your side.

I've said it many times before and, once again, I say it now -- it's good to see you writing again.

Thank you for being an inspiration to me every single day of my life. Thank you for standing up for all that is Godly, true, and right and for letting me lean on you when I falter. Thank you for not wavering and being uncompromising of your integrity and principles. Most of all, thank you for being the love of my life. I stand by you and I stand with you, as equal partners, in the eyes of God and in the eyes of man.

-The lovely and talented Mrs. A.

Stand...Yes, we must!

Stand against the socialist Ob/Biden ticket and for Mac/Palin!

We need to raise our voices loud and strong and in the voting booth!

The socialists have been getting more and more brazen...their hands are all over the Fannie Freddie debacle. It's time they paid for their crimes!

We will be sending a message in November!

Go Mac/Palin!

JOHN GALT!

Superb. Absolutely superb. I posted it at my blog.

Loved it.

Beyond superb. Kinda reminds me of todays version of 1776 sort of speaking. Exactly what this nation needs.

I'm here to enlist.

I am John Galt. Absolutely great post. I'm ready to march!!!

Keith

Amen. Good post sir.

I first read and did a book report on "Atlas Shrugged" during my junior year in High School back in the early 70s. I saw then the direction our country was heading and know deep in my heart that Ayn Rand knew what she was talking about. I only wish we had the option John Galt had with his valley. This country would collapse completely if we could actually achieve what John Galt did in the book.

Best wishes and great post sir.
Who INDEED is John Galt???

Keith

BTW, I have added you to my Blog Roll. I will try to read more of your posts as time permits.

John, sorry I mean Keith, great

post. See if my latest post -- it's the one highlighted in light blue on the main page at http://townhall.com/youropinion/ -- rings a bell.

uh, uh, I thought I was John Galt...

...oh well, guess I'll have to settle on being the imaginary King of the USA. If I were, Sean Penn and other hollywood types would be getting a draft (US Army Infantry) notice in the mail soon. And at the bottom, in small print they'd have the option to renounce their US citizenship and be on the next European bound flight out. Ha! DD
