Death to (fill in the blank)

You'll never get a reasoned discussion between liberals and conservatives; it's not possible. Most conservatives are rational, using facts and logic to arrive at a "sensible" conclusion which, not coincidentally, happens to be "conservative" for 90% of the issues we face.

Liberals, on the other hand, are personally invested in the notion that they "know best" how the rest of us should live, and any challenge to that notion therefore constitutes a direct personal attack on THEM. Since (okay, almost) all of their support for their position is emotional, about "knowing what is best" for everybody (and without regards for such things as freedom, fixed standards of morality or simple economics), they cannot logically or rationally defend their positions. You are being "unfair" and "unkind" just by offering the possibility of a different solution, and therefore you are angrily attacked. You don't understand that, and try reasoning with them, which only makes matters worse.

Don't you see, this post and the next are all of a piece? And that the only way to "reason" with a liberal is to defeat them at the polls and keep them from power, where they are really dangerous? Reason with the reasonable and poke fun at the rest, I say.
