Sotomayor as the New Archie Bunker

"Meathead(s)" is a very apt label for our ever frustrating moderate Republicans. We can just about depend on them to roll over and help put "Archie" on the bench. Keep up the good work.

I guess I was lucky, growing up with loving parents. Not that I wasn't expected to do my share around the house; but my father was not like Archie in any way, shape, form, or fashion.

Our music, with a few exceptions, was classical or the music of the big bands. (One of the exceptions was Elvis, who my mother really enjoyed.) My sisters and I were introduced to the classics at an early age (Shakespeare, Dickens, Cooper, Conrad, Dumas, Scott, Steinbeck, etc.).

I started working in the outside world at age 13 (paper route and grass mowing). By the time I was 17, I worked thru the summer as an assistant plant operator for the Clarksdale Public Utilities.

Nope, I never did like Archie. He never struck me anything more than a "cartoon" figure of an American father. And Edith wasn't even close to an American mother.

Liberals still believe that the country is filled with such people and that they need to find them and fight them. They cannot find them, so they just fight them instead.
