Comment on:
Romney for President. NOT!
Muslim—and Mormon—teaching in our Public Schools.

You against Muslims and Mormons?
There is no harm in learning about the history of these groups in school. Particularly when these groups founded a state. Educators are careful and sensitive to the need to exclude doctrinal discussions. Look, Mormons have made great contributions to the history of this country. The western pioneer trek was perfected by the early Latter-Day Saints. Entire states and communities throughout the west were founded by them as they escaped persecution. It is part of the American experience, our history. It offers an important lesson to be learned about religious freedom.
Make no mistake, I do not want the public school indoctrinating our children. I don't know of a teacher who would do that save for a few looneys in the Santa Cruz area who lean left. Frankly I am offended that you single out members of those two religions to demean them and ridicule them.
As far as their members being in the Whitehouse, I think their life, accomplishments, and integrity say more about what kind of presidents they would make than their religion. I could care less what church a President goes to so long as he has demonstrated that he is a faithful husband, devoted father, smart, capable, and conservative.
The Founding Fathers thought this was so important, they put it in our Constitution. Following a particular religion does not disqualify a candidate for president. Too bad they could not figure a way to disqualify bigots from voting. Your argument does our nation a disservice.
