Election Silverlining

Hey, I saw that you left a comment at my old blog. I've long moved on for the most part, but I'll stick around to read what you're up to. If you're interested in what I'm up to, I blog at the libertarian site United Liberty as well as my personal site.

On the jubilation of the African American community over Obama's win, I see positives in this, at least in the near future. During Obama's acceptance speech, there was a camera shot of Jesse Jackson frowning. I imagine that he realized that he has nothing to say anymore. The cable news guys won't be calling him or Al Sharpton. America is better without the media presence of those political racketeers.

There was also an Ayaan Hirsi Ali article in which she said that while there may be a honeymoon with Obama and the Muslim world, it could eventually dissipate to the level of Bush. Obama has kept aboard Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense (a great move IMO) and has pledged to expand war in Afghanistan, which is looking worse for wear than Iraq right now.
