Comment on: ANTI-LIBERAL ZONE

ANOTHER End Run around the Constitution and the PCA of 1878.

Question

Great article and I agree. I do have one question.

Who should be handling the incursion on U.S. soil by the Mexican military? I guess my first thought is to put some U.S. troops on the border. I really don't think the U.S. Border Patrol is effective (not their fault, they are hamstrung by PCnicks).

Our constitution is in danger

Barack Obama's election is a threat to our constitution. If the courts don't uphold it about his citizenship, then why would they uphold it for the Army being used on American soil. The constitution is starting tho look like toilet paper. But I have one thing to say. A former president of the NRA said it best, " from my cold, dead hands." Thats what it will take from me to submit to power like that.

GunnyG

What is your opinion on the possibilty of US military forces being ordered to arrest senior government officials who have blatantly violated the Constitution or pronounce their intention to violate or suspend the Constitution or similar situation. Example: Pelosi and Reid announce they have suspended the Constitution and will ignore a court decision meant to prevent Obama from being sworn in as POTUS, that they have proof he is qualified but will not produce it. The SCOTUS refuses to hear any case against them and the DOJ says they will enforce the decision of congressional leaders.

The incumbent president as Chief Executive orders the Sec. of Defense to create and execute an operation to protect and defend the Constitution by arresting the leaders of both parties of the Senate and House. We soldiers swore an oath to do that very thing and are being ordered to do so.

Or, should it be the FBI's job? Secret Service? US Marshalls? Treasury? ATF? NSA? CIA? Homeland Security? US Atty. General? Nat'l Guard?

Is there established protocol for such a scenario that you are aware of?

Glenn

Gunny

Seems as if way too many congcritters, and WH office-occupants, have forgotten just what is spelled out in the Constitution. Between that and the total bastardisation of the meaning of the words "provide for the defense",and "promote the general welfare". Interesting times, indeed.

There are definitely...

...times I think that the Political Animal needs to be hunted to extinction, and the Public Servant returned to his rightful place.

Thanks, Gunny, for another well done, well researched post on a topic about which I knew nothing until my stop here in "The Zone."

Gunny

This is an obvious violation of the constitution.Forces such as proposed here should be left up to the states. This is just another one of those *little things* the bloated federal gubmint is injecting into society that will eventually curtail rights.Leave it up to the states. If they want help they'll ask for it.

Glenn

In such a scenario, it would not take the DoD and the SecDef to do it. Rather the protocol would be for the President to order the Attorney General to begin indictment proceedings under a Grand Jury and that if arrests need to be made, then they would be handled by the FBI or the USSS. The case would have to be ironclad and airtight to do it. So the violations of the Constitution would have to be egregious in the extreme.

Just what is the army gonna do?

Why would we need 20 thousand troops? We don't have police, ems, firemen, the National guard? This is typical dimlibturdcrap designed to make you feel good. Don't worry they've melted the lower half of Manhattan, the army is on the way.

If only - Sending troops to protect our borders makes sense. They would not be functioning inside our borders enforcing laws but protecting the country from outside forces.

Any ENEMY

within our borders is fair game for engagement by the US military. If Mexican Army forces cross the border, the US Army/Navy/Air Force/Jarhead Corps would respond.

Of course, I'd like the President to declare the Bloods, Crips, MS-13, Mongols, and all of the other gangs to be official enemies, so we could go after them with shoot-on-sight orders.

Warthog

Yes, I believe you are pretty much on target. I am not yet convinced that any of this being planned for is inevitable. FEMA has a contingency plan that would trigger IF a meltdown of civil government had already occurred.

Thank you.

I wholeheartedly agree but would add
"with a large bounty on their head!"

YOU'RE TEASING ME! I could limit out here in Virginia.

Interesting and scary

First of all, this is even more of a reason to go out and stock up on firearms and ammo.
Second of all, haven't the libs been claiming we are doing so terrible in Iraq because the military is spread out too thin around the world?

Barry will probably try to use this to justify the formation of his blue shirt brigades.

All hail the ROTUS!!! or suffer the consequences???

PCA of 1878

Gunny, I am mixed on this one. It seems that we could have training exercises with tanks and such on the Mexican border. We could have fleets of helicopters running the fences.

This is not much different from the CA Guard in Watts I with 50 cal machine guns or the tanks on the streets of Wilmington, DE.

I would rather have a professional army around than some 20,000 'civilian' security force with lefties running around looking for violations of the Obama social policies. [2A, hoarding food, currency, etc.]

Here is what I don't want to see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Zhivago_(1965_film)

I also don't want to see algore's dupes singing either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdM8PDu6VMg

The Army is professional and patriotic and right wing. The other variants are clearly not.

That is where this is headed, good call. The military is too thin but my guys can help...

ryck

While I see your point and it's a good one, I'm against any erosions of the Constitution or our Bill of Rights.

As far as the border goes, let them be Federalized for patrols and actions along the borders, with set guidelines and boundaries. Declare the situation an emergency and follow the law. The illegals are not US citizens so I have no heartburn here.

That's why

this American has decided to finally learn how to use a gun and is going to purchase one before 1/20/09.

I've been saying for quite a while now, we Americans are faced with two choices: surrender and lose or fight and win.

Our Founding Fathers literally risked everything. The question is: are there enough brave American patriots willing to do the same, if necessary.

Right in the Crappe*

Hey, here's an idea, let's take the Constitution and flush it down the toilet in the new Capitol Visitor's Center.

Check out the link Gunny and see what that jackas* Reid said today.

Devil Dog

Remind me when I go to D.C. to have the breakfast of champions. Or the second week of deer camp. Here goes, beans, boiled eggs and BEER.Then stand in front of the Hon.one's door. With a fan.

James

Please give me an example of how Obama represents a danger to our constitution. If our constitution looks like toilet paper at all it's because the neocons have been wiping with it for the past couple of decades. Time for that to end.

BTW Gunny, the National Guard and other branches of the DOD have been used on numerous occasions for crowd control, disaster relief etc. Remember Kent State and Katrina - well maybe not Katrina. PCA is a quaint law that hasn't been in force for a very long time. Stop being hysterical.

ryck

Since when is the Army right wing? NONE of the numerous enlisted, officers or civilian Army employees and families I know are "right wing". There was quiet, yet overwhelming support throughout the military for Obama. Stop fantasizing.

Polling stats: http://militarytimes.com/static/projects/pages/081003_ep_2 pp.pdf

The numbers prove the obvious: 1) the military supports conservative candidates, 2) blacks vote their skin color, and 3) liberals ignore facts.

Recovered Lib

I learned as a young kid that fighting back is always preferable to giving in. Well done on your conversion to the light and may you and yours prosper in the New Year.

BTW, taking my son to the NRA Museum and Shooting Range on Saturday. I recommend your next step, if you have not already done so, it to become a life member in the NRA.

Devil Dog 0313

I caught that when it hit and heard it on hannity on the way home. What an arrogant useless piece of sh*t. And they wonder WHY their approval rating is at 9% and sliding.

If Only

Crawfish was dead on about it but it should be noted that when Pancho Villa attacked us, it was armed citizens who repulsed him BEFORE the Army got there.

James

I, like you, are disciples of the brillant Walter Williams who tells his students that if the Gov't tries to confiscate his guns, they'll know he is dead!

glnflwrs

There are three times when you MUST disobey an order.

1. When it is UNSAFE.

2. When it is IMMORAL.

3. When it is against the LAW.

Liberals want to circumvent the Constitution without risking a vote to change/stop any of the Amendments as they know to do so would kill their party!

clyde

ANY ONE elected SHOULD be made to take a comprehensive test on their knowledge of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and our History.

The Interface

Thanks for the kudos. Just when my batteries run low, I get a kudos like yours that pumps me back up.

USA Eagle

Good point and I'm reading more and more that some governors are becoming more vocal AGAINST the intrusions of the feds. No the Wimpinator in Caulifornia of course, Maria holds his balls in her purse, but others, like the one in SC are.

He'll be there, will YOU?

Was "Chesty" a Marine?

I only have one question. Green side or brown side out? LOL!!!

Erosions of the Constitution

While I see your point and it's a good one, I'm against any erosions of the Constitution or our Bill of Rights.

So am I, but we have to wonder how Mussolini and Hitler got around their laws. Benito and his black shirts battled the Bolsheviki and marched in the streets until the King asked him to form a coalition government.

Hitler and his Brown Shirts battled the Commies in the German streets and the Reichsteig passed an Enabling Act that made him dictator.

The chief fear here is that there might be some kind of 'civilian' security force that might go from door to door checking on toilet flush volumes, testing auto emissions, number of extra rooms, amount of food and an inventory of guns and ammo. This could morph into a NKVD or a Gestapo very quickly if we have 12-25% unemployment. The low class and illegal aliens have little or nothing to lose in this effort.

We cannot tolerate a downsizing of the Army with a concomitant increase in some civilian group who takes political orders. Note that the Elements of the Constitution are preserved under this potential case and we lose big time.

rycK

SCOTUS and the Constitution

We all have to face the nasty fact that the meaning of the words in the Constitution or statutes are defined only by the courts. Re: Slouching Towards Gomorrah by Robert Bork.

This means that the laws are rubber documents who can be stretched and warped in many ways by clever jurists.

Remember where abortion came from? SCOTUS in Griswold v CT. [a new right of privacy]

How about an Hispanic civil rights ruling where we must 'address the sins of the past?'

How about: "Affordable housing is a civil right."?

How about a world Carbon Tax? SCOTUS might join with the UN.

Sound familiar? Think about this.

rycK

What a 'coincidence'

GunnyG -

Interesting you should mention joining the NRA. Why, just yesterday I received in the mail ... an invitation to join the NRA. And I'm gonna do just that!

Fight on, folks!

Sgt Relic

FUNNY!

While I find it scary that we may be once again lining up against ourselves, it's amazing to find that so many Americans still cherish their heritage and God-given rights of a free society and are WILLING to fight for it.

rycK

Well done and duly noted.

The SCOTUS and the UN? Yee Gods, a match made in H*LL!

Recovered Lib

Rock on. Hope to see you on the range.

They Will Not Disturb

Posse Commitatus.

They don't have to. They proved this at Waco and Ruby Ridge.

They have several "alphabet" agencies that are ready to don their black jumpsuits and ski masks and batter down American Civilian doors at the first word from their boss who will be someone like Janet Reno. These "alphabet" agencies care not a whit about the Constitution. All they care about is a law and their orders to enforce that law.
At Waco when they actually ran across people ready to defend their rights, they asked the Army for tanks and tankers. When the Army said "No" they ask the Army for just the tanks. Again the Army said "No" but thistime the "Justice" department lied to the army to obtain the tanks.
UNDERSTAND! These 'alphabet' agencies are loyal only to their boss and their boss' ideology.
It is the policy of these 'alphabet' agencies to go ahead and enforce the law and if it is unconstitutional, the arrested can contest that in the courts. AND THAT IS NO SCHIDT.

Was there a point to your link? I did not get it. You really have to ask who is paying for the survey.
