The Union of Bad Ideas and Even Worse Consequences

union of bad choices

Where did you get your autoworkers wages info. I have a few autoworkers in my family and no one makes over 28.00 per hour plus benefits. They also have co-pays for their medical.

You should check history on how autoworkers received their pay packages.. Auto makers were profitable with higher wages adjusted for inflation. The american workers wages have been eroding since 1972. Foreign competition subsidized by their govts. and our state governments to build in the u.s. has undermined the car industry.

The reason americans are as indebted as they are is borrowing to live (maintain their current standard of living and the american dream). The reagan trickle down economics didn't trickle down. The money stayed on wall street which has created an economic meltdown. Most of the money is the people's pension and retirement funds.

Author Response

I clearly state that the numbers I used were from Forbes. The fact remains that the American auto companies cannot compete with foreign makers. The unions are largely responsible for this. And trickle down economics do work, check history and look at how the economy greatly improved under Reagan.
