Good article
I agree with the lets leave the past, but bring the history of it was wrong, it was fixed, now let's move forward. Most all other races are ready to accept all for the quality fo person, but the blacks won't let it go.
Heavy Doug, just what COTEXT makes double standard correct?

Blacks won't let go of the past
I believe that the average black person in our country wants to move past old the grievances that their leadership insist on throwing in our faces. The problem is that there is a whole industry built up around keeping what happened to blacks during the middle part of the 20th century.
People like Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright Jr. have a lot to lose if they started telling blacks that its time to move on. The politics of victimhood is like crack. The addiction is hard to break. Just look at what happened to Bill Cosby when he started to point out the systemic problems in the black community.
I don't think any change is going to take place in the near future. Especially, after learning the hateful remarks that Barack Obama listened to in church and said nothing about them to his pastor. This whole situation has a great potential to get worse if Obama has the nomination taken away from him.

Moving Forward
You're right about the money and industry of racism. Many whites and non-whites are willing to move on. The race-baiters won't let us. Harry Jackson had a good article today. We have the initiative, but as long as people see themselves as victims, we'll never have a chance to change anything.
