Well thought out, BUT..

...social security was not originally implemented to take care of people FDR thought were too stupid. It was originally for widows and orphans of either firemen or servicemen, I don't remember which, never meant to be everyones safety net. Picky, picky, picky, I know, but the rest of your article was so good, even the smallest misstatement takes away from its power.
