Moral, Not Social or Cultural, Issues

Just wanted to say hello and welcome you to the Townhall community. As a person who could be called a social liberal Republican, I hope our party will stop trying to interfere in other's lives. For true freedom to abound government cannot interfere in someone's personal life. Just my two cents.

Hello, Christopher, and thanks for the welcome. Now, you don't believe what you said about not interfering in someone's personal life. Social liberals are constantly interfering in American's personal and social lives. Taxation is interference, for it takes my money. Social security is interference, for it does not permit me to invest my money as I see fit. Hillarycare or government health care is highly intrusive. Prohibiting smoking in public places certainly interferes with my personal life. On and on we could go. If I decide to steal from you, that's my personal choice, but you won't like it a bit, will you.

No, Christopher, the issue is not interfering in someone's personal life, but in what ways to interfere. In that we do differ, and greatly.
