I've no faith in Huckabee

Re: Faith the Enemy of Reason?
I guess you've never heard such a thing as "reasonable faith." Christianity and believe in Creationism is not blind faith, but a faith based upon reasonable evidence. You exercise faith every day you drive in a car, ride in a airplane, go to the dentist. You have faith that the car, plane, dentist will not fail. Yet this faith is reasonable.
It almost takes more faith in believe in pure non-theistic naturalistic evolution than creationism. No one was there "billions" of year ago to verify all that is claimed to be true. Therefore whatever one's position is on the origin of the universe and the age of the earth, it is certainly a "faith-based" position.
I too want a president who is intellegent and can skillfully use all of his reasoning abilities to make good decisions. However, just because Huckabee does not buy evolution or has a "reasonable" faith that GOd did, does not make him a worthwhile candidate. Based on your criteria, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, etc. would all not make good presidents.

I appreciate your taking time to respond. Reasonable Faith is different from reasonable confidence. Faith is the belief in something for which no scientific evidence exists. I have confidence in my dentist because can check out my dentist through local agencies or via references. I know the plane will fly because we have enormous amounts of readily available evidence to support human flight. Cars-ditto. There is ample empiracal evidence that these things or people are reliable and work. The same holds true for the evolution concept. The science is there, pure and simple.
I too want a President who will not abandon his capacity to reason at any conflict with his 'faith'. The world is full of too many situations that could come in conflict with faith based decisions and a President without capacity to reason on those issues is severely handicapped.
