9/12/09, I was on the West Lawn of the Capitol Building

9/12/09

Thanks for the shout out! I am struck by the fact that so many people who are fed up with our current "leadership" in DC gathered in such a peaceful and respectful way. Compare and contrast that to previous marches/rallies (including a certain inauguration). As you noted, grievances were many, but the message was one of unification---we are freedom loving AMERICANS! I thank every single Patriot for attending the 9/12 March in DC and others across the country. Many came a long way to have their voices heard. Congress ignores them at their own peril. Every day is a good day to be an American, but 9/12/09 was an extraordinarily good day. "Can you hear us now?"

Well, hi, Melodi!

So nice meeting you yesterday.

Thanks for checking in.....and for leaving a comment. Come back often, any time.

And tell your friends or, sometimes better yet, email an article (using the email function at the bottom of each article) to any of your liberal friends, just to annoy them. Annoying liberals is one of my favorite things to do. Ha-ha!

Totally agree with your comments, esp. about how good a day yesterday was.

They will either hear us now or they will surely hear us, on their way out the door, in 2010.

Enjoyed your post about the day,

Chuck. Your experience was mine.

Nice!!

Found you per Chris Regal, best of the blogs...it's a shame I don't get around TH more!!
Yes, this was a great day and as someone said to me, "We're having so much fun, we should be in jail"
This was history and unbelievable!!
Thanks for your story, too. Click me and read about it1 :)

Hey, Nee

Thanks for your comments. I'll "click you" and check out your article, too.

Chuck

My husband keeps saying let them under-report the size of the crowd because next time, we will kick even more as*!!(my word, not his).

Imagine if each of us who attended this time, brought two more people? I think that there were at least 6 people I know who could not be there for other reasons- funerals, work, money...So, we can make a bigger impact and no longer be considered nothings!!

Well, Nee...

...the lamestream media -- or as I call them, the MMM (mendacious and moribund media) -- have gone so far from being the government watchdogs they were given the freedom of the press to be and into being the libs' and especially Obumbler's lapdogs that they're never going to fairly credit us with what we're doing, no matter what it is.

What really frustrates me, though, is that even FOX is failing to grasp what a historic event the 9/12 march and rally really was. The Brit press put attendance at at least a million and I've heard the University of Georgia sattelite photo estimates say 1.7 million! That's the largest event EVER in DC.....and all with minimal trash and zero, zip, nada arrests for anything.

I've emailed both O'Reilly (oreilly@foxnews.com) and Beck (glennbeck@foxnews.com) and told them the sheer size (and peacefulness) of the crowd was one of the most historic parts of the story and to get on it. I haven't heard anyone, not even FOX, report on exactly how many were in DC, as well as how many supporting venues across the country that day had what accumulated numbers. Maybe lots of other THers should also email them.

Chuck

We did have a meeting point and time, but the Metro and highway traffic made it IMPOSSIBLE to keep it.

Good post Chuck

I'm sorry I missed this one last month.

Your story sounds so much like mine from 9/12 that it's eerie.

I met some wonderful people from all around the country, and even a couple who came all the way from Puerto Rico!

I met old folks and college students, I met hardcore conservatives and disgruntled obama voters, who keptapologizing for being so stupid.

A bunch of us bloggers tried to coordinate a meetup that morning, but as your experience in the metro explains, no one expected the crowd that showed up.

One experience that really struck me was as we were coming out of fed triangle station, and met up with Mrs Paddy (I had her cell number). We met up with a Tea Party Patriots volunteer, who was holding onto a lamp post and appeared to be in distress. (she was visibly crying).

I asked her if she was ok, and she just kept repeating "They told us to expect 100,000!". Her tears were tears of joy and amazement, as she watched the people stream out of the station to join the river of humanity already marching down PA ave.

I brought my 22 year old son with me this year, (actually he did the driving:op) and it really opened his eyes to see how many "crazy right wingers like us"(his words) there really were in the country.

I asked him "Ever wonder what it's like to be part of something historic? Wonder no more!"

We Will be back for the 2010 march and next time we're bringing his sister along too.

Thanks, Georgetwin and Jackpine...

...for stopping by and commenting.

"Your story sounds so much like mine from 9/12 that it's eerie."

Well, Jackpine, that's just what happens when two handsome, suave, distinguished, debonair, intelligent and experienced conserative guys attend and report on the same event, I guess. You know, great minds and all that.
