Don't Cut Off the Nose!

You are exactly right

We cannot afford to turn our country over the Michael Moore party. It would be a disater! You have beautifully pointed out what's at stake.

Today we are watching the result of the Left's constant barrage against our nation and our President...with foreign despots on our soil spewing the Left's talking points, and accusing our own president of being the devil! Chavez, the Left's favorite Socialist, Ahmadinejad, and the America- hating UN despots are treated by the MSM as heroes!

The Left must not be allowed to get back the majority. We will be cutting our off our nose to spite our face...well said!

Excellent post Flagwaver! Keep it up!

Good reasoning

I agree in no way do I want the Dumbocrats in charge of anything.
The answer in in the grassroots and getting conservatives through the primaries. I know we had the Specter/ Tomey spectacle and the Chaffee Snafu but if we look at things like the Contract with America and Ronald Reagan when conservatives have good ideas and articulate them well they do win.

My Worry

The problem I have is that the present day Republicans are more like a 70's democrat. Whatever happened to personal responsibility and hard work? The moder GOP seems to be following the path the democrats took over the last 30 years. That bothers me more than anything. A portion of them have gone over to the "feelings" side of the house. Big government and lots of "benefits." As I mention in some comments on other sites, the people running the system will lead to its doom. Here's my "feeling" input, I FEEL like I am just voting to slow the decension into the abyss rather than stop it and right it. What is a person at our level supposed to do about it? It's both disgusting and frustrating.

Biggs and JDW

If its any consolation, you folks are expressing my worries. Fellow voters, i have never been so torn between the results of my vote. Fortunately for me, here in Florida there is no real problem. I vote for Katherine Harris and move on. What if i was in Rhode Island though? Good luck to all up there and may your choice work to the greatest good of all. Howsomebever, i am licking my chops at the prospect of putting the blocks to "alien amnesty Martinez" when he comes up in a few years. May things be such that i don't have to vote for a choice of evils.

I hate being a sKerry,

but I keep flip-flopping on this one. I voted for a GOP loss in November before I voted against it.

Convincing arguments, Flag. It would be cool if we could get you and Brian to do side by side pro/con columns like they do in the newspapers sometimes.

Pistol,

I'll be looking to do my part to show Martinez the door. He has been a bumbler and worse since the get go.

UGH!

UGH! That is EXACTLY what I am doing. In the end, I'm sure I'll end up supporting the GOP for the reasons Flagwaver gave, but....UGH!

Like JDW and James Biga, I find the GOP has a lot in common with JFK nowadays.

I have never failed to vote

In a general election, but here in the heartland home of Ben Nelson (D) and Chuck Hagel (R?) it is tough. We need to get the bums and RINOs out, but if we do, the seat is likely lost to the other party for a term. And yes, that will lead to Flag's bad results. Though I think he is too pessimistic. Without 60 senators, we can be as obstructive as they have been. And the best predictions of the I think that the result of a loss of the House will be a do-nothing congress and that is not all bad.

By the way

got a new post on my bolg. Stop by.

Speaking of BrianR...

did he get bumped off again after only a few hours back?

Also, as no man (or woman) is perfect, we are always voting for the lesser of 2 evils.

Dem Control

I agree with Flag. Remember, as bad as Hagel can be he still has that "R" after his name and as long as we outnumber them, Schumer won't chair the Judiciary Committee. We need to challenge the RINOs in primaries, but if the RINO wins the primary, they're still better for the country than Democrats controlling Congress.

Actually, Flag

For a lot of the reasons to which you've alluded, I've actually been saying the Reps should lose the Senate, not the House.

The Senate doesn't originate the budget, nor impeachment. Further, these are the fools who promote No Illegal Alien Left Behind, and want to coddle terrorist captives.

Anti-soc: LOL

No, I've been on a business trip, and only got back last night. I was so swamped I didn't get a chance to log in at all, and frankly was too tired each night to care.

Thanks for noticing, though.
