Good essay!
One of my students used the standard argument "but the Republicans claim to be the party of morals."
I'm not sure that I've ever heard a Republican state that. We are the party of family values, but does that mean we proclaim that we have no immoral people in our party? And as you said, when we discover a person such as Foley, he gets kicked out, pronto!
The hypocrisy by the Dems is overwhelming. I can't wait to cast my vote. How could any Republican let this scandal keep them from the voting booth?

Thanks for your kind words. Other than some mistakes in grammer that I have found upon re-reading it it wasnt too unreadable I guess. I repeated myself on a couple of points too. I need to read my posts a couple of times before I post them. Regardless, I think the dems need another wakeup call. They are so desperate to return to power that they will do or say almost anything, even lie, which is something they do constantly. I am also so sick and tired of political correctness.
It will be, I do believe, the death of the democratic party as a power party if they lose the majority in this election followed by a loss again in the presidential race in 2 years. And I cannot say that I would be unhappy about that.
I do know that I WILL be voting in this and every election that follows. I will not allow the return of the democrats to power by the loss of my lone vote. And I will post here and write letters and do what needs to be done to defeat them.
