Fight or flight

This man was no automaton. Had he been, he would've stood around like so many others do and wish he could do something without getting hurt. He chose to act. In a split second the choice was made and he, pardon the comic cliche, sprung into action. THIS IS WHAT MEN DO. He could have easily sat back and watched the whole event occur and no body would have blamed him for doing nothing. They would have sat around saying "what a tragedy. There was nothing we could do?"

They can pull all the psycho-babble they want. When it comes down to it, he responded as a MAN does.
